Firefox update & no new files to review in Defense?

hello

winXP sp2 pro and eset 2.70

I updated today firefox and comodo active defence hasnt noticed this?!

Is this a normal procedure? I had assumed that I have to admit that new files are on my system and that files that have rules in the firewall have been exchanged!

Network: Custom (Alert very high)
Proactive Defence: Safe&Learn

Well, I just noticed under Poractive Defence advanced: ‘trust signed vendors’…
I wonder I that is the culprit…

thanks in advance
DD

In train safe mode you will not get any pending files and if Firefox is trusted you will not get a pop up. I updated Firefox with the same results you had. If you doubt that Comodo is protecting you then simple download GRC’s leak tester.

Hi,

As Vettetech stated if the files are seen as safe by CFP (which firefox files, usually are) then they will not be added to pending files. Also, if Mozilla is added as a trusted vendor, you will not get alert for these files.

As of .295 update if CFP is not in the clean pc mode, then files will no longer be reported in the pending files list. As your CFP is in safe+learn you will not see pending files.

Mike

Thanks a lot for clarifying!

PS:
“As of .295 update if CFP is not in the clean pc mode, then files will no longer be reported in the pending files list. As your CFP is in safe+learn you will not see pending files.”

Dos that mean that Clean-Mode is more powerful than the safe+learn because then and only then considering these two modes only I can review files ?

If your pc is in clean pc mode, then new / modified files will be added for your review in pending files list. If firewall is in another mode then files that are certified ‘safe’ by comodo will be allowed (depending on what mode you are in), any unknown/modified files you should get an alert for.

Either way, you will still be asked for unknown files so both modes are safe to use. Clean pc mode, should give less popups if you prefer to use it.

Clean PC mode is more for people who don’t know whats installed on there pc or do not know what is safe or unsafe. If you know what your doing and know what files your installing then use Train with Safe Mode. The pending files lets you look at what files have been added and you can make a decision if they are safe or not before allowing them access. I personally know just about every app on my pc and I have around 200.
