Firefox/IE will not connect to internet with CFP on

Hi,

I’m a new user on Vista sadly but I’m glad I found this firewall. I didn’t have any problems until I got FF3

I couldn’t find anything exactly like this in another topic. My internet browsers will not connect to the internet or something like that, they won’t load pages unless I disable the Defense+ for the initial connection thing, it’s like if I turn it off and then load my start page then put it back on the internet works fine but if I close all my tabs then I have to restart this process.

I thought this was probably not a good thing and maybe I accidently did something with my settings. In Computer security I have FF as a trusted application. In network security policy I have it on custom and everyhing is allowed except block and log all unmatching requests is denied. It seems to be like that for everything else though that has a standard policy, CFP has block and log all umatching requests, Company of Heroes has it, etc.

Thank you!

Yuhuan

Go to FIREWALL SETTINGS then hit ADVANCED edit FF3 as 'WEB BROWSER" then go to DEFENSE+ SETTINGS hit ADVANCED again then find FF3 and customized it with this settings:
*RUN EXECUTABLE - ASK
*DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATIONS - ASK
The Rest is, ALLOW

PURGE both FIREWALL & DEFENSE+ SETTINGS

Hope will Help :■■■■ :■■■■ :■■■■

Hello,

I’ve had same problem before. (:AGY)

Firefox 3 or IE will always cut off by comodo firewall pro 3 (CFP3) if its on.
But it only happens when I deactivate windows update in CFP3. Because it stop the process for svchost.exe in windows system to access local server via TCP/UDP, so problem solved when I activated it.

Follow these steps to reactivated :

Go to Firewall Task => Advanced => Network Security Policy => on Windows Updater Applications click Edit => Use a Custom policy with command : Allow TCP or UDP Out From IP Any to IP Any Where Source Port is Any And Destination Port is Any

Or

Just use a Predefined Policy as not Blocked Application

It Works for me fine, :BNC I hope for you too …

I too was having this problem, and have tried all above fixes to no avail.

Everything was fine until I used the ‘Stealth Ports Wizard’ and added my trusted Zones - however then Comodo would not allow any traffic no matter what Zone I was on. The only way I can connect now is to turn off the firewall. (I have tested this on ALL browsers on my system - FF, Safari, Opera, IE)

I have removed the extra rules for System and the Global rules. I even deleted the policies for the FF browser to see if it would trigger new Alerts - but now I am not getting Alerts at all and I cannot find a setting to turn them on.

I found the information on another thread. Under 'Miscellaneous/Manage my Configurations/Select" I switched to ‘Maximum Security’ and now I’m getting pop-ups again and can connect when in Safe Mode.
