Firefox download record official

The final record breaking 8,002,530 downloads for web browser Firefox 3.0 took place in June.

Good.

Wow, that’s almost 333,500 (333,438.75) downloads per hour! It’s pretty impressive. Download size for the US version is 7.8 MB, so that means around 62,419,734 MB have been downloaded from their server in 24 hours…

That’s crazy. Another record I remember was Halo 2, Sold 32 million copies in first 24 hours - JUST IN TOKYO

Kyle, I think you mean 2 or 3 million copies, as there’s only 8 million copies of Halo 2 sold worldwide :■■■■

An impressive result.

But, the BBC seems to have put an interesting spin on the item… they said “breaking”, where as I thought it was “set”. As there was no such record previously… was there?

There are “only” 20 million people living in Tokyo ;D

thank you for the correction, I just googled and it was 5mil sold in tokyo first 24 hours. Dunno where i got 32 from lol

Begging users to download in the pursuit of a world record is complete sadness.
