Firefox 17 + Comodo Firewall 6.0.x + Flash Player 11 = freeze

Hello everyone,

I have a very odd problem. The combination of CFW 6 and Flash player 11 freezes my Firefox 17
If I uninstall either CFW or Flash Player everything works perfectly
I do not get any notifications from the firewall and the logs are empty too

Can anyone confirm this problem?

Actually, that is the combination I am using right now; so I can not confirm that. Are you running FF in the Sandbox / VK ?

The fact you’re also having issues with Chrome may indicate a configuration problem. As such it may be worth posting details of your CIS configuration.

I didn’t know any better so I made a diagnostics report
I hope this may help
But as I say I have reinstalled CFW 3 times now and every time had the same problem

firefox and ice dragon have flash being autosandboxed twice. they work some what but depending upon the configuration…I filed a bug report.

Ahh…
Well I had a feeling it could be some kind of Defense+ mechanic
I never liked that thing, so always had it off XD
and now, it works even if it’s off o_o

I can confirm having the same problem.

My system setup:

  • Windows 8 Pro x64
  • Bitdefender Total Security 2013, only Antivirus enabled and firewall turned off
  • CIS 6 Firewall
  • Flash v 11.5
  • Deafult settings

many people are having problem with bitdefender and cis 6. this is a formatted bug report someone has filed.
I too filled out a almost exact report as above in the beta days about bit defender and firefox/chrome…

Under the sandbox setting do you have it set to run unrecognized files as untrusted. If you set it to partially limited it won’t freeze. The original Flash process under system32 is unrecognized for some reason. I tried to submit the process but it disappears promptly and is just left sitting in unrecognized files. I hope it will get fixed soon so I can switch back to untrusted.

Have you got the TVL disabled and then updated Flash?
