False Positive Mediamonkey 4.1.10.1778

I downloaded the above captioned file directly from MediaMonkey’s website at http://www.mediamonkey.com and upon opening the install file, Comodo (version 8.2.0.4792 database version 23854) detected a trojan CloudScanner.trojan.gen@2@1 within the installation. I notified MediaMonkey and they said that 1)their install file was clean and 2)the file is marked as clean on Virustotal.com. I also ran a full scan with Comodo and also did a scan with Malwarebytes. Both came up with zero threats.

Hi Slytheringirl,

The sample MediaMonkey 4.1.10.1778 (Sha1:0d2aa210e2054a20f26304c2bba7f2fbbb489df4)which you have mentioned as false-positive is not detected by Comodo Internet Security version <8.2.0.4792> with database version <23856>.

Please make sure the Antivirus database is updated and check again. If detection is still present, please submit the detected file on Comodo forum at
https://forums.comodo.com/false_positivenegative_reporting_is_this_a_malware_that_cis_hasnot_detecte-b154.0/

Navya.

I have the latest version of CIS (Version 8.2.0.4792 Database: 24245) which is set to auto update daily. It is again claiming that the installation file for the latest version of Mediamonkey (version 4.1.11.1783) has the same Trojan listed above (CloudScanner.trojan.gen[at]2[at]1). I can not attach the file due to the forum’s size restrictions so you must download it from Mediamonkey’s site which is where I downloaded it from. Also I have scanned for malware and my computer is free from malware.
