False Positive! BKDR-SMALL.BD Found In MS WMEncoder.exe!

I downloaded MS’s Windows Media Encoder from the MS website then ran it and BOClean reported finding BKDR-SMALL.BD. This surely must be false. I did not have BOClean remove the file, should I?

Welcome to the Comodo forums, lashf…

Hard to tell at this point, do you have the log? Can I get the link you downloaded from?
I’d suggest uploading the file in question to VirusTotal first to see if it gets any hits there.
Secondly, submit it to Comodo per the “False Positive?” instructions in the CBOC FAQ.

Here’s the link I used: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5691ba02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24&displaylang=en

I took a look at BOReport (log?) and it is empty.

The file is a big one (10Mb). Should I send it anyway?

No, it’s too big to mess with uploading.
Is CBOC’s default configuration to save a report in:
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\boc425"
still enabled?
If so, please attempt to install the MS codec again and collect the log to post here… also, can you take a screenshot of the prompt/warning CBOC throws up and post it as well?

Reply back from CBOC lab in the mail already, nice!

Thanks for your submission, it's really a False Positive, will be rectified in today's update.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention lashf.
