Someone installed some some fake Comodo product on my computer trying to get me to buy support.
Not a fake, so presumably someone downloaded from here:
https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-ccs/comodo-cloud-scanner-101359309-public-release-t53247.0.html;msg377253#msg377253
Ah I see. I like the way it flags unknown files as suspicious/malware. I have just lost all trust in Comodo. This is scareware and should not of been released.
The program itself is actually very useful, but I’ve got to agree with you that it still does resemble scareware. Trust me though when I say it’s definitely much better than the first few Betas.
In your opinion what could they change about it so that it would no longer seem like scareware to you?
For example if they removed the large, bold, letters that read “Your computer may be at Risk!” would this be sufficient?
Please be detailed and in fact if you could post these changes as a wish here:
https://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-ccs/comodo-cloud-scanner-wishlist-t49729.0.html
then maybe something will be done about it.
Only one link to live support so it doesn’t look like the program is just after money (which it is) and yes the big red writing to be removed. Also not to say unknown files may be suspicious/malware which is also scaring to most average users to just get them to use live support. Maybe have a separate one for unknown files?
Great ideas. I think that with these changes CCS should be even more usable and no longer resemble scareware. Thanks for the great suggestions.
(Would you want to post this in the wishlist or shall I?)
;D You can if you like. I already talked to someone on live support awhile ago said he had passed the thing about the big red writing onto the development team ^^

There are many good reasons why it offers “LIVE PC HELP” Alot of them might be minor, but when you come across a computer and it’s major. It’s a life saver and a time savor, especially for people that don’t know how to fix it. Or even risk screwing things up. Some people have stuff on there computer that’s extremly valuable to them and don’t what to risk losing it. Maybe the person wants it done professionally and fast because there on a time-restricted projects. There’s all kinds of reasons
the whole point of Comodo Cloud Scanner is: not to take risks!
its the tool our experts use to check if there is ANYTHING suspicious on the computer…
It works by showing EVERYTHING that is NOT TRUSTED.
This way, we can analyse all that is NOT TRUSTED to see if they pose threat or not.
I think its a great tool for the ones who are hunting for the baddies…this tool makes their life easy, by showing them all the suspicious files (effectively, untrusted files).
