Would something like this be possible? i[/i]

It would but then you would be copying Internet Explorer.
How dare they Copyright Protect my favourite colour. ;D
EDIT:
I’ve thought of a better colour, hold on…
Turquoise? (The text should have been darker.)

An alternative idea…

It’s a good idea, however the idea is to innovate vs. of copy.
The last screenshot I posted, where it says, “Extended Validation”, when someone clicks that, it could open a small pop-up window that plays a short flash video; which is stored locally at ‘install’ time.
I wouldn’t class ‘changing the backgroud colour of the address bar’ as Copying, any more than I would class ‘having a scroll-bar on the right-side of the browser’ as Copying. They both just seem like a standard thing to do.
I think the colour Turquoise (or Mint) looks Cleaner than Green for some reason.
The video could be something like this…
Not everyone that would be using CD would be a simpleton.
Why would you even consider to use Flash when CD/Chrome support HTML5, which has NATIVE support for video. (CD doesn’t yet have it for some reason) There’s too many exploits being written for Adobe products anyway. From a security standpoint Flash is EVIL.

I do believe as per the CA/Browser Forum every Browser Vendor should have their own implementation of EV, there is no standard per se at this time. If there was unity, then why are they all different ( IE, Firefox, and Opera) with the only two of the same being Chrom*/Safari, but that’s because they share the same engine.
That’s a great idea. But in that case, you will need to convert your current Flash Video’s from Flash to HTML5.
Well the only browsers I have used, when I have visited a secure site - regardless of whether it is DV or EV - the ‘address-bar background’ has changed colour (not tried Firefox or Opera): Maybe the Chrome Dev’s got the idea from Internet Explorer; who knows.
I was under the impression that the browser was intentionally targeted at “simpletons”…
Facebook.com is a trustworthy Web site, but Comodo CEO Melih Abdulhayoglu sees it differently. "My goal is to secure end users. And if that means I need to put a message saying that this site is unprotected because [it doesn't have] a validated certificate...then I will."
in order to keep the user experience consistent, we are considering adding the green border for EV indication.
Melih
That’s great news. ;D :-TU
White Listing is Good!
indeed…
we have few more ideas how we can bring the power of whitlisting to dragon
Current version of Comodo Dragon is our base…our starting point…our platform…Now, we will keep adding new features to make it very valuable and different for our users.
Melih
The Video tag of HTML5 accepts several container formats one of which is OGG. HTML5 is not a standard yet, but with big dogs such as Apple and Google on board, it soon will be.

Just because one doesn’t understand the core difference between DV, EV and OV does not and will not make people simpletons.
I know… ;D

I don’t doubt that.

I just hope it stays faster than Chrome…
I haven’t put it through a speed-test (I don’t have the tools), but it does feel slightly faster than Chrome ATM (but not when you open a New Tab for the first time though).
With all of these ‘free Cloud Services’ popping up all over the place, I think that ‘Guaranteed Privacy’ could be a great selling point in the future. Maybe if the user could some how see what is being sent/recieved from/to the browser. Something like ‘Wireshark’, but in the form of a “simpleton” version.

+1 :-TU
EV: https
OV: https
Still waiting…
DV: https (white background)
Done! :-TU :-TU
Thanks for the improvements in 4.1! :-TU Now EV, OV and DV sites look different.
In Chrome 5.0, https is blue for both OV and DV… Background is always white. And the padlock has been moved to the left of https.
Will Dragon 5.0 keep the yellow background for OV? (And will https be blue? ;D)
