Exception Breakpoint---appcrash

hi all. im new here and just joined the forum thru total frustration and hoping to be able to get some solid help in fixing this issue once and for all, ive been using icedragon browser for 3 yrs now i spose, after countless reinstalls to try fix this issue, i get ice dragon has stopped working, close program, exception point app crash, (0x80000003) 0x63002cd along with different error numbers in the past 3 years, says a plugin has crashed , i love ice dragon browser, its clean. light, very fast (sometimes) if this doesnt crash it first, unobtrusive, but i am just about at the end of my tether with it as i cant seem to fix this problem, i dont want to go to chrome, i dont like it, but the way things are going unless i can get this sorted i have not much choice, im aware icedragon is firefox based and comodo dragon is chrome based, im no computer wiz thats for sure but im no dummy ether, but im not that good with software issues, the exception breakpoint box appears when i go to restart the pc, i restart it then its ok for about 10 mins then does it again with slow browser action or it crashes, any help would be greatly appreciated

thx in advance ozz

Have you tried running icedragon in safe mode or disabling all plugins?

says a plugin has crashed
Does it indicate which plugin?

hi,
ok ill try again, ive just reinstalled W7 ultimate 64 bit direct file from microsoft, reinstalled icedragon directly from the icedragon website, latest version 52 and then it said it reverts to version 40, installed that and im having the same issues as earlier, why does it revert from version 52 to version 40
ice dragon is slow and it hangs up all the time, other times its lightning fast, i dont know why im having these issues with icedragon, i tried chrome and i dont have this issue, i just dont like chrome and i want to get icedragon working properly

thx ozz

Can you check the version number of IceDragon? Did you or the automatic updater update IceDragon from v52 to v40?

hi eric, thx for the reply, all i did was went to icedragon website for the latest version of icedragon, started the download then it said v52 but v40 was to be installed, so i did that, ive installed and reinstalled icedragon now probably 50 times trying to get it right, same thing happens everytime, ive been with icedragon now for about 4-5 yrs, originally it was fantastic, so quick at times you couldnt even see a page change, now its like a turtle for me, and im not that good on software stuff, i know the basics thats about it but from good to really bad doing nothing different makes me wonder what the hell is in icedragon set ups , ive changed nothing fro the start, all ive done is reinstalled w7, and this is the 3rd time now thinking its a w7 problem, and you know what sort of pain that is, hundreds of updates, reinstalling everything again, and then i have the same issues with icedragon, chrome i dont have it…why ??? and chrome is comodo dragon based and icedragon is firefox based

i managed to screenshot this, so what am i doing wrong here ???

You can use the direct download link from Comodo Ice Dragon 52.0.0.4 Released. It will give you v52. The download link provided there always gives the latest version.

thx eric ill try that, but that still doesnt explain why it says v52 and it reverts to v40
problem is to get a screen shot of when this exception break point box comes up is when i go to restart the pc, so i cant use capture or the print screen button to take it, and as soon as it click restart or shutdown it stops all that working and thats when the box shows up, so i have to have my phone ready to take a pic , quite often it says ice dragon will say icedragon not responding up the top of the page, then it rights itself until it does it again and doesnt matter what website im in itll do it when it wants to and it has done this in whatever version of icedragon ive had installed

I think the page from which you are downloading the installer of IceDragon may be serving the wrong version. From which page are you downloading the installer from?

The links in the release topic will provide the installer of v52. You can check by checking the Details tab of the Properties of the installer.

eric it was comodo icedragon website, the comodo icedragon page, i made sure there was no other name after the comodo icedragon page name that it was a 2nd or 3rd party, im savvy enough to know that and it was icedragon website, and ive downloaded this upteen times b4 with the same results

so when i do this from the link you provided , what do i do ?? uninstall icedragon completely, then reinstall from that link, then a reinstall, and what about my bookmarks and things ive saved, what happens there ? because honestly eric , this icedragon is as slow as a wet week, multiplied by a month of it

cheers ozz

well eric i went ahead and installed version 52 link you gave me over the top of what i had already, dont know if thats the right way to do it, but i will keep you posted of what and how its going

i thank you for your, help, time an patience 8)

cheers ozz

Let me know if things worked out for you or not.

ok eric thx,
but i do have some questions, last night when i installed it it was as quick as, seems the longer i stay on the net the slower it gets, now i dont know if thats in the settings, or my internet, for eg, my computer forum warp9systems, which is powered by proboards, last night it was quick to change pages and threads, and reply to posts, today its as slow as a wet week again, takes forever to change a page, whether its proboards servers cant keep up or my setting in icedragon , or my net connecton i havent a clue, it took me over 30 seconds to just get here to this site, so any suggestions to fix this id be very greatful, once again with chrome its doesnt do this and i dont get why

cheers ozz

Trying cleaning cache and restarting the browser for starters. If that does not work (sufficiently) try running IceDragon in safe mode with the extensions disabled. Or along the same line disable extensions one by one until the problem gets fixed.

How does your computer connect to the modem/router? Wired or wireless?

To learn if a problem is related to your connection or browser try accessing the web with another browser. If both browsers have the same problems it is most likely the connection or less likely something on your computer. When the browsers perform differently on the same web sites at the approx same time then the problem is with the browser.

ok eric thx, i will have to get my friend to do that stuff , im not that experienced enough to be compitent to do that, next time he comes over

as i said it doesnt do it with chrome on all the same websites, its done the same thing no matter what version ive had from icedragon for a long time now, so my guess theres something wrong inside one of icedragons extensions as you said disable each one to try eliminate it
eric australia is having huge issues with NBN, our broadband carrier, National Broadband Network, its a mess, the government own it and actually forved australia to connect to NBN other wise you have no internet other than prepaid, its being rolled out across australia as we speak, theres huge issue with complaints of low speeds to the point of where suppliers have been ordered by the ACCC communications ombudsman to reimburse customers no matter what supplier back to the customers for speeds bought that cant be supplied constantly, i bought 25 download , 5 upload and the problem is NBN cant supply the speeds constantly because of fibre to the node and copper to the premise, total garbage, some have fibre to the premise, its actually like a 3rd world country internet, actually some 3rd world countries have better internet than us, australia is about 15th in the world for internet speeds, but for mobile phones speeds its up in the top 4 in the world i think from memory, so you can see the problems with out net im sure but that doesnt fix the browser issue i know, even with a slow net speed i shouldnt be getting this exception breakpoint issue and will keep you informed once i get this what you said t o do done by my friend

thankyou once again for your rime and patience with me on this frustrating long time issue

cheers shane

Keep us posted.

ok will do eric thx,
oh i forgot to tell you the modem is wired, connection from the phone/internet line to the wall plug, DSL cable from wall plug to DSL port on the modem ,and then the LAN connection from the rear of the motherboard LAN port to the LAN port in the modem , the LAN connection has the latest realtek drivers installed

■■■■ eric the thing has done this exception breakpoint again, but its been going great until now, even after i installed icedragon directly from the link you gave me, i notice everytime this happens that the mouse reacts funny, the scroll button when you scroll on the page abd the page is all jerky, not a smooth scroll, but i didnt have my phone ready to cature the breakpoint exception box on the screen b4 it dissapears when i shutdown or restart coz i cant use print screen or capture when i click either to shutdown or restart coz it wont work, windows has been instructed to shutdown or restart so i have to use the phone to take the pick to be able to post it to show you what its saying, ill keep persisting 88)

hi eric
finally got a shot of it, its not that clear but im pretty sure it reads
(0x8000003) and at location 0x674b560d
when it happens the pages are as slow as a wet week to change, the mouse wheel and mouse pointer gets notchy or jerky on the page, takes quite a while to change a page at time, so i restart it then its right again until it happens again, that could be in 10 minutes to 10 hours later, just happens when it wants to
