error on startup. similar to, but not the same as, previously documented error

I run XP Home SP2 32 bit, and am currently running only Comodo security software: CFP 3.0.14.276, CAVS 2.0.17.58, BOClean (not sure on version, but no new updates available), and CMF 2.0.1.6
Firewall+ and Defense+ are both set at “Train with Safe Mode”

I was running fine for some time, but recently I am getting these errors on startup:
from “cfpres” I get “Error 0x0: failed for C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Application Data\Comodo\Firewall Pro\Data\ResFiles\Config.ini”
hit “OK” and I get the documented “cfp” error “ERROR: Error while extracting resources from C:Program Files\COMODO\Firewall\cfpres.dl . Aborting application.”
hit “OK” again and I can run the firewall from a shortcut.
I had this error previously on version 274 (using all the same software except not using CMF), uninstalled then updated to 276, the ran for a while before getting it again.

On top of that, I now am getting a mirror image error from CMF:
from “cmfres” I get “Error 0x0: failed for C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Application Data\Comodo\Memory Firewall\Data\ResFiles\Config.ini”
hit “OK” and from “cmfres” I get “failed for C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Application Data\Comodo\Memory Firewall\Data\ResFiles\config.ini”
hit “OK” again and from “cmf” I get “ERROR: Error while extracting resources from C:Program Files\COMODO\Memory Firewall\cmfres.dll . Aborting application.”
and once again, hit “OK” and I can run CMF from a shortcut.

I tried uninstalling CMF in case there was a conflict between the two, but it didn’t help. Still getting both sets of errors.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This is more or less the same error we are all having. The exact error messages will vary, but the result is always the same: “Aborting application.”

Here’s a thought: When this error occurs, do you guys always find a bunch of new entries in “Defense+/My Pending Files”? I think I do, although I’m not sure, and they are always related to Avast, Windows Defender or other applications which automatically update.
