I’m getting this error in firefox

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

It does not happen in IE and from a bit of reading i think its to do with the intermediate certs? can anyone have a look at let me know what they think

Yes, you would be absolutely correct. The intermediates are missing on the server. Who installed the certificate?

it was done by the person who set up the site. I’m now making some changes to it and have noticed this. The host uses H-Sphere and when i go into the ssl settings, there is nothing in the boxes, should there be?

what are the steps i need to take to fix this?

To resolve this, you have to install the root and intermediate certificates on your webserver.
