Dear Melih:

If you could spare a moment, please explain in very simple terms (keep in mind that I’m a novice when it comes to PC’s) how this works. I have free email cert’s from thawte.com as well as cacert.org. The trouble is that my contacts refuse to use them, period. I have done everything I can to convince them to use but they couldn’t care less.

Thanks.

PS: I also have GPG which is the open source version of PGP.

That’s exactly the problem Snyder!

The recipients not having a certificate. As you know, if the recipient does not have a certificate, then you cannot encrypt for them!

It is that problem we have solved! With CES, you can simply send an encrypted email to anyone you like and it will be encrypted. The recipient can then decrypt it, either by installing this free tool, or simply forwarding the email to an email address to read it online.

So now, you can simply send it encrypted without worrying about whether recipient has a certficiate or not.

thanks
Melih

Excellent!

Installing the free tool is fine (Although many people are a bit paranoid about installing good programs but would gladly download a whole lot of ■■■■ without batting an eyelid. Just my opinion anyway). But why forwarding to read it online? I don’t understand, has the security been compromised in a manner of speaking? It is like getting a private and confidential letter in a tamper proof sealed envelope, then the recipient turns around and pins it to the bulletin board so he can read it. Just a thought, why can’t this function be mimiced at the email client without having to actually forward the email. I’m sure you guys can come with a solution.

This is simply fantastic. I’ve go to try it.

I do have a question … is this platform and client independent? what I mean to ask is if it works with any email client on any OS such as Windows, Ubuntu or other linux distributions.

why forwarding to read online: Cos you might be in a place where the only thing you have is the browser and no access to this tool.

Well its OS and client dependent at the moment. we are trying to expand it further.
