EasyVPN Beta 1.0.61560.46 - Feedback and Comments

In this topic you can discuss and ask questions about the new beta.

Could you provide us with a changelog, or are there to many changes done  ?

Hi eXPerience,

This will be added today.

Hi Shane,

I needed to uninstall the previous version, do i also need to re register ?
I can’t connect at the moment, “The current connection has timed-out”.

This will now be the discussion and comments/questions topic of the new beta

Okay it’s trying to connect to https however the server is not responding.
My host sends 3 SYN requests and does not get any response back.

One change is that it’s no longer asking “elevated privileges” at startup on Vista :-))

Me too :frowning:

Hi Guys,

There may be a server issue, just looking into this now.

Guys, please report bug reports over here

Hi Guys,

Seems there is an issue with the server update. I’ll withdraw the new client until it’s resolved.

Please continue to use the old client and I’ll post back here soon.

Not receiving a TCP RST suggests the host is firewalled.

heh, lol, where’s my bug report ;D

Why do we need an EasyVPN service ? 88)

I ask myself the same question over and over… :THNK…
What is the biggest selling point of easy vpn? (besides it is free…)

  1. To create a LAN over Internet
  2. Secure IM
  3. Secure Remote access to your machine (even though your IP might be dynamic)

an application with total encrypted lan simulation over the internet with remote desktop and instant messaging capabilities.

creating lan over internet means vpn…
imagine the ability to create a vpn with a simple application you install…
you install this app on two machines… voila… they are now going to operate as if they are on the same lan…you can print on the other machine, you can synch your iphone, you can play games (LAN games) and so on…

that sounds really cool! I can already see the possibilities, only this time is going to be easy as just starting the program on 2 machines, and off you go!

Think Hamachi, MSN Messenger and LogMeIn all rolled up into one secure package.

It’s brilliant!!!

Ok, I’ve been testing it with Commodus and these are my findings…

Good :

  • fast file sending
  • remote desktop control

Bad :

  • laggy remote desktop connection
  • when adding someone to the conversation it says : user joines conversation + origional user joines conversation which seems a little unneeded :).
  • when typing the cursor seems to disappear and appear again

Has it been already added?

If it has, where can I take a look at it? I’d really like to see everything that’s different.
