Hi -Crow-,
This service can be disabled in Windows services.
Open the start menu, type services.msc into the search box and press enter.
Scroll down to Comodo Dragon Update Service, double click (Or right click, open properties) the service and set the startup type to disabled, then click Apply, Stop, OK.
Note: Manual update is still possible.
Does it need a windows service running to do a manual update?
When I disable the automatic updater from Comodo Dragon settings it should also disable the windows service.
No the service allows for silent updates.
The manual update still functions correctly with this service disabled.
For manual update go to Menu, About Comodo Dragon.
When I disable the automatic updater from Comodo Dragon settings it should also disable the windows service. For some unknown reason it never has disabled the service but I agree that it should.
Thanks captainsticks.
I always do manual update. And because I have an old laptop I need all resources available, that’s why I don’t need a windows service running just to silent update a browser.
Google Chrome doesn’t have it, and I really don’t see the need for the service.
It could just check for updates and update automatically when the browser is opened…
You are welcome, all the best.
