dragon=chrome

hello,
i just tried dragon, and i see no difference with chrome 3.
are there any differences between those 2 browsers ?

One MAJOR difference :

Chrome phones home.

Don’t you just love poetry?

Here’s some of the differences between Google’s Chrome and Comodo Dragon. This is only a few of the differences between the two. As time goes on, the more distinct it shall be.

ok, i see, thanks for the help to make a choice between dragon and chrome.
i’m going to reinstall dragon so.

I hope so, and think it won’t be that long before it does, only then will I suggest and promote to my friends as I’m still a FF fan… So it’s gonna take a lot to shift me! ;D

Firefox is still a favorite of mine, but I hardly use it anymore. It’s become slower and more bloated with each release. I use Opera 10, Chromium v5 (dev) and Firefox 3.7 on a daily basis for all the browsing I do. I mostly use Opera for my day to day browsing though but I’m moving more and more towards Chromium or a Chromium based browser. Chromium is so fast and I have so few problems with. I will assume the same would hold true for Dragon.

Well it is only as slow as you want or think it to be, with all the add-ons available for it, some cause problems which do not directly mean it is FF problem but the add on itself. But as for it being slow, it may not be as fast as others (for now, will catch up very soon) but provides me with nice add-ons like NoScript etc, if all these were made for Dragon, then I would seriously consider making the switch as it would be most certainly viable.

But this is only early days, and I’m sure you guys are working very hard to refine the browser as opposed to googles snooping offering. >:-D

Considering the slowness is there in Firefox’s Safe Mode, it’s not an issue with any of the add-ons. I’m aware that add-ons can cause problem(s) (as they have in the past). I’ve been using Firefox since before it was called Firefox (It was called Phoenix). Seamonkey2 doesn’t have the same slowness problem either, which is a bit strange since it’s so much more than just a standard browser and built on what Firefox 3 is build on.

How much FF slower than Chromium or Comodo Dragon?

For example i would not want to refuse to use FF because of NoSquint, FlashBlock, Torbutton, bookmarks backup built-in system, MAFF, webmail separate profile, Tor’s special profile…

For example, searched for replacement for NoSquint. Tried highly convinient Opera. It doesn’t have similar addon and built-in font enlarging setting (global text-only zoom level) caused CPU load jumping up when scrolling long pages.

I may have live with slower browsing speed but do not loose those customizations which FF provides.

It’s visually much slower. If you’re looking for exact numbers, I don’t have those. I can feel and see Firefox’s sluggishness. Chromium/CD just snap. BAM!

Chrom* just introduced extensions. All in due time there will be Equivalents or they will be ported over.

Different strokes for different folks. O0 Chrome is quite young compared to FF don’t forget. It’s quickly jumped through the version numbers too.

:-TU
Asked for opinion, numbers were not intended, of course.

Nice if that will be so :)

P.S.: Will try more speed: just downloaded CD ;D

Tried CD. Chromium based browser. Uninstalled. No visual difference in speed if compared against FF.
Still by overall experience CD is a bit lighter than FF.

As for extensions for CD, apparently it will take ages to provide similar functionality and flexibility as FF+extensions do now.

FF 3.6 with adblock plus & NoScipt is a good solution, it’s slower than chrome of course but it’s not a drama, FF is still fast enough.

That is a bit ‘‘how can I say it?’’ confused me. My favorite browser is Firefox and I use it clearly with a few add-on. But Firefox doesn’t go to slowly area. It’s in normal speed, why everyone said that Firefox is slow, Firefox is harming memory? I don’t see these things on my computer. Firefox is not too slow, it is in normal speed. And Firefox is not harming memory. If you try to add bunch of tabs, yeah it will go to slow time by time.

About to Comodo Dragon, I can say that Comodo Dragon will pass Opera in about one year. But Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome. They are too hardest opponent, because of they are from well-known company except Firefox. Chrome from Google, Internet Explorer from Microsoft. Firefox is a good boy and it is a static browser for most users. May they can use three or four browsers in the same computer, but Firefox is a different one from the others, Firefox is stable.

I think Comodo Dragon should be turn its face to security not on speed. Comodo Dragon will be improve itself. I wish this too, thanks Comodo for every tools of you.

Best wishes.
