Does any One knows network Rules for lsass.exe

Hello to all,

Lsass.exe is a Local Security Authority Subsystem Service in xp.
It authenticate users logon credentials, generally this service remains in listening mode.

recently I recieved popup asking me to allow outbound connection for lsass on internet.

My qustion is:

  1. under what circumstances lsass.exe makes outbound connection this is after the fact that" client for Microsoft network " and " File and printer sharing " remains disabled by default on windows Xp on Internet connection.

so it is not possible for someone to log into your system or you can log in other system .everthing has to perform through browser interface.

Someone please explain why lsass does need to make outbound connection

Thanks in advance

Regards

Adi
