Does a USB internet dongle need Application rules?

Hi all,
I use a 4G USB dongle to access the internet on my laptop. I am using Comodo firewall and have created Application rules for all the apps that need internet access.

I am not so sure about the USB dongle. Should it be excluded from the Firewall or does it also need to have Application rules?

If it needs to be configured in the Firewall, which permissions should be granted to it?

Why would you think that it needs rules when its like any other physical network adapter? Also have you actually used it with the firewall at default settings?
