Diconnecting VPN connection disables internet connectivity (V3.0.18.309 X32)

Just performed clean install of latest Comodo 3.0.18.309 x32 release

O/S: Windows XP SP2 x32
CPU: Intel Core 2 CPU
Running as a regular user w/ administrative rights.
Using LAN wired connection to my router.

I use Juniper Netscreen Remote VPN client 10.5.1 ( Build 8 ) to connect to our office environment. I didn’t change any settings and let CFP learn things on its own. I was able to connect and use the VPN just fine until I had to disconnect. VPN seems to have disconnected but the computer claims that the VPN connection is still active. When I do ipconfig i see the following:

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.102
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

PPP adapter SafeNet Virtual Adapter Interface:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.102

The internet connection at this point is stuck/blocked. I can’t use the internet until I reboot the system.

P.S. When i was doing clean install I had an option to just install the Firewall (with optional Leak Protection) which I selected. However it seems that Defense+ was installed and is active anyway?
