Grady, things will improve mate. You just gotta remember that comodo is dealing with alot more samples to catch up to the other competitors as well as today’s samples.

I think they are adding about ~4000 sigs a day.

I have promised that we will deliver one of world’s best AVs (if not the best) to our users in 12 month (that was few months ago)… I still think we can and the next update is a big milestone with some major changes that will really make a big difference.

I install COMODO to my clients here in Puerto Rico and they love it. Even unexperienced users are telling me that they love the Pop ups. Can U believe that? They say that the enjoy watching all the movement in their PCs and how amazing it is. They did not know how many ■■■■ they can allow on their computers. Now they feel safe.
We tried similar products to COMODO but there is not one!!! They are so called silent. And they dont monitor everything COMODO does so I dont feel safe!!

We are now making CIS address both markets… ones who want full control and visibility and the others who just want the best security but doesn’t care to see it.
the next release (v3.x) is a major step in that direction! I have spent millions of dollars to achieve this and our users will be the beneficiaries of this huge investment! Soon… very soon! (and we wont’ stop there! There is even more we will do… CIS 4 will be yet another major milestone… wait and see )

1 will cmf & boclean be given their own sections of cis, so the main toolbar appears like antivirus, firewall, defence+, Memory Firewall, Boclean etc
2 noob question but are heuristics added as a seperate scanner, or does it add extra signatures to scan for…

Heuristics are about detecting potential malware behaviour by looking for patterns of known malware behaviour. It will be part of the AV engine.
I hope it will be integrated into one GUI.
About heursitic scanning. But, we don’t what approach COMODO will take with this. Maybe something involving CIMA.

I guess another thing, which I can mention is a BRAND NEW GUI!
It’s totally built for usability and newbies! Oh, by the way, the new GUI is just a mock right now, Only drawings on the PC. As soon as it’s finalized, Coding then starts. But you will see it LATER in the CIS 3.5xx series (I think), And it will take around, Just an estimate… 6 or so months from now.
It’s a long term project, I guess I should of mentioned it 6 months in the future in a new sticky for CIS, But meh… Get excited. 
What else is there… Oh yeah. When next CIS version is out (very very soon)… With heuristics it should have full signatures and more sigs will be released to your PC and caught due to heuristics. Something to do with CIMA, Melih correct me if I’m wrong.
One more thing, Did you know any malware that gets DETECTED by AV, D+ will NOT Alert you? If 40% malware is detected, you will only get D+ Alerts for the other 60% unknown malware or potenital malware not known to the AV Engine & Heuristics! With this, Together with whitelisting (1 million + Exectuables), blacklisting, and ThreatCast… CIS WILL BE VERY QUITE!
