I tried to run a Anti-Virus scan using my Comodo Internet Security Program. I left the computer scanning but when I came back about 20 minutes later I noticed an error message which said ‘This computer has recovered from a serious error.’ Add to that my Defense+ was telling me that it is not functioning properly. When I clicked on ‘Run Diagnostics’ yet another message appeared which said ‘The diagnostics utility did not find any problems with your installation.’
But clearly there IS a problem because my usual Red Comodo icon on my taskbar has changed to a large black ! with a yellow background.
Anyone any ideas on how to fix this ?
Can you check with Task Manager (with “Show processes of all users” enabled) and see if cfp.exe and cmdagent.exe are both running?

I think I solved the problem myself yesterday. I right-clicked on the Comodo icon on my taskbar and from there left-clicked on ‘Configuration-Proactive Security’ this action changed the Comodo icon back to what it should be i.e. red background with a white C.
Thing is, of the 3 choices available in Configuration - Proactive Security
Internet Security
Firewall Security
I don’t know which one is best or which one should be selected. Can you help ? In fact, is there a page somewhere which explains the full workings of Comodo Internet Security because most of it I simply don’t understand e.g. Safe Mode, Paranoid Mode, Clean PC Mode etc.
Please reply.
The best is the “Comodo - Proactive Security” configuration. You can use Chiron’s manual for CIS installation .
Thanks for the info. But is there a web-page anywhere which explains ALL the details of Comodo ?
Yes there is. Comodo Internet Security, Antivirus protection, Firewall Software |Security Help
You can use that link, or through the Comodo interface under the More tab, and click on Help. You can also access it through various settings pages as you are going through the interface. If you’re wondering what certain settings do, click the ? in the bottom left-hand corner of the settings window, and it will take you to the help page specific to those settings.
