i have installed cis and liked it. i like the way defence plus works but the problem is the comp is used by all of us i.e my family and i think to allow or block defence plus pop ups needs attention and one thing whenever defence plus generates pop ups regarding suspicious thing very few times it clearly mentions that suspicious malware activity detected and most of the time it just mention that this and that thing is trying to do this and that. the problem is that i can handle defence plus pop ups but my family member cant so i have disabled defence plus and installed threat fire coz i think both are hips but work differently and threat fire generates very few pop ups. i want to know if i disable defence plus i will lose only hips security or any other security too and will threat fire protect me with all the security i lose with defence plus disabled.
That’s fine naren. I can understand why you wouldn’t want the family messing with the pop-ups in the future comodo is working on making less pop-ups while keeping the same level of security or better.
You will have the firewall protection from comodo and the behavioral HIPS protection from Threatfire, Your protection won’t be as strong as defense+ but it is still good
thanxx for the reply. want to know one more thing. should i disable the defence plus in comodo internet security or should i opt for a fresh install of (firewall only). coz i remember when we opt to install only firewall in the comodo internet security there are three options
firewall only , firewall with optimum proactive and firewall with maximum defence plus
i guess second and third options are firewall with defence plus. the first option is firewall only.
so i want to know if i install the first option i.e firewall only i will get the same firewall security which i will get in comodo internet security with defence plus disabled or i will get more security i.e more security options/alerts checked.
i re-installed the firewall i.e firewall only. there’s no difference, its the same as in cis. but defence + is still there in inactive mode. i opt for firewall only then why defence + is there even though it is inactive. if i m opting for firewall only then defence + should not be there. during installation it is not mentioned that if you will install firewall only then too you will get defence + in inactive mode.
in the future comodo is working on making less pop-ups while keeping the same level of security or better.
