CUnite Setup Wizard ends prematurely

I’m fairly sure you should be able to log in to your account now, install CU and it will work…if my memory serves me correctly. Interested to find out.

EDIT:
Sorry, read your post wrong…looks like you did get it to work in your account…glad I could help.

Be sure to put a password on Administrator and don’t use it for anything but ‘Admin’ !!

I have since re-disabled the Administrator account, and CU seems to still run fine from my own account. But it wouldn’t install from my account either way.

Thanks for your help.

go to controll panel - administrators tools ( something like that  ) - event log. check there for comodo unite logs, and now you know.

Not sure what you’re referring to. I’m well aware of the Event Viewer. When CU wouldn’t install I checked there and found some messages about the failed install, but it said nothing of any help.

can you please copy-paste here error log ?

installation success or error status 1603 msi

Again, I am familiar with this stuff. I’ve spent lots of hours googling MS error codes over the years. And it’s not like I’ve never seen 1603 before. Like so many MS error codes it just means “something went wrong, glad I’m not you”.

ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE 1603 Fatal error during installation.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/229683

That’s no more helpful than “wizard ended prematurely”.

Is there an obvious way to find out that this error code means “Enable the Administrator account, and install from within that account”?

Stated another way, if you have a point, I wish you’d just make it and save us both some time. Or am I reading your responses wrongly?

if you asking should you do it an scc that is have administrators privileges, yes you should do it.

forgive me if i did write something wrong, i’m still learning english, and it’s not that good as i want it.

and no, i’m not saying you are a dumb person, who doesn’t know how to use google. i’m far away form saying that. you can telll you know what do you do, after reading your posts here.

just to be honest ? best way for me ( i know i’m a lazy now writing it ) it’s to make new acc with admins privileges , and it this doesn’t still working, well … re-installation of windows allways seems to be helping :d

If I understand your point correctly … yes, my own account that I was originally trying to install from is an administrator account (but it is not the Administrator account). It would not install from there. It also would not work when I ran the installer with “Run as Administrator”.

well at this point i just run out of ideas. sorry ;/

No apology needed. Installing under the Administrator account worked so I’m happy and can proceed on to finding out what CU will do. Thanks.
