Just updated CTM this afternoon,I can’t find any information on this update yet.Presumably this release addresses the well documented MBR/uninstall issue. ???
Edit:
What’s new in CTM 2.6?
FIXED! Failed to uninstall CTM in some special environment.
FIXED! After uninstall, system can’t startup in some special environment.
FIXED! A couple of critical bugs.
FIXED! More than 20 GUI bugs.
IMPROVED! Compatibility of installation.
IMPROVED! Performance of disk accessing.
IMPROVED! Improvements of command line tool. Now, command line tool
Just tried it (2.6) - no changes to the boot issues though. Got the same unbootable disk. Tried PCTimeMachine - likewise. The same frozen boot message - ‘testing memory…’ bla-bla
Yes everything went very smoothly without issues. As for a changelog I can only presume that, like I said it’s a bug-fix for the system killing MBR issues.
COMODO, please confirm this update fixes the uninstall issue which crashes computers. I need to know if I install this patch I will be able to safely remove CTM from my computer.
I’m very pleased to tell you, that all CTM updates, that i tried caused it not to start. Now, i tried for the last time.Same issue appears.I have no CTM anymore. The saga continues.
p.s.I know it’s free, but at least make it usable.I’m tired of reporting bugs of stable versions.
Well…I guess because I’ve installed, uninstalled (for monthly JK Defrag) it at least three times on both an XP SP3 desktop and Vista SP1 laptop without issue. Well I did revert back to v…54 on the laptop because v…57 did not allow me to exclude the D partition. Keep in mind, that when Microsoft launched IE8, it may have crashed tens of thousands of PCs. Crashed my laptop but fortunately I had an AyRecovery snapshot to return to.
I guess Vista-32 is a special one of a kind OS? That was what CTM destroyed for me.
Please explain, exactly which OS’s does CTM destroy? Which ones doesn’t it destroy?
You state CTM supports the following OS’s.
Supported Operating Systems:
Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)
Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit)
Windows XP with service pack 2
or higher (32 and 64 bit)
Windows Server 2003
(32 and 64 bit)
Windows Server 2008
(32 and 64 bit. Except Windows Server 2008 Core)
