csipremium_installer_x86 does not work properly...

I only received the firewall… :o

This link will bring you to the thread and post containing the installer links. I tested the links and they are working.

This will solve your problem.

I wished it did, but that is not my problem, I only get a functioning firewall, nothing else, I tried two installations with the csipremium_installer_x86 (for my XP 32 bit sp3)

  • the AV is not supported by this interface. No way of doing ANY upgrading…
  • the Defense+ is not functioning properly (this is the system that is telling me that, I see that on EVERY pages on the left hand side just under the “Run diagnostics” button which I use and I get " The diagnostics utilllity did not find any problems with your installation."

So right now my computer is unusable, because I refuse to get on the www with a product that is not working LIKE IT SHOULD.

BTW, I tried the standalone, cav_installer_x86 I get told tha it is OUT OF DATE and I can’t update it
with cfw_installer_x86 I get a non functioning Defense+
What is it that makes Comodo not work properly on my computer???

All I’m asking is some protection for my computer, is it so hard?

Dero01. Try a clean install and try again. Start with uninstalling, reboot and run this clean up tool/ Then try installing again.

When using the cfwinstaller you can still install the av as part of the suite. In the start menu look up the Comodo Firewall folder and choose “Add and remove components”. Now choose to add the av.

Sorry, this has been too much time consuming and this is not what installing a new software is all about.
Obviously the FIREWALL has a GOOD proven track record, BUT, the suite (FW,AV andDefense+) is not ready yet. When you have to spend all this time troubleshooting your computer, you ask yourself, is it worth it.
My answer, NO, so I went back to my AVG and until I find something, I’m happy with that is the answer.

What is the problem???

-Is the product not ready and was released before it should had been??
-As I appreciate the help of the mods here, I wonder about all the techno babble that you get when reffered to a certain tool and on that reffered post, people are arguing about the validity of that tool. Do I want to use that tool and further my troubles???
-Then other mods tell you to use this other tool, how many tools do you need to make this sofware work?
-After reading that the installer is giving out the wrong version, 4.1 as oppose to 5.0 and other things that are here on the forum, DOES NOT MAKE ME TRUST THIS PRODUCT.

Maybe it’s time to take it off the market and make it work PROPERLY.

As a user, I should go to a site, download the software, install it and make it work, END OF DISCUSSION.
My question is still, how come it works for some people and not for others???

My problem was ALWAYS one firewall that worked, defense+ and antivirus that never worked.

Apparently there is something in your system that is problematic and is unrelated to the annoyances with the download pages.

To what are you referring to? The clean up tool? What you read there was the developemnt of the tool since it was made for v3. It does a proper job when you had your firewall installed on default path.

-Then other mods tell you to use this other tool, how many tools do you need to make this sofware work?
Probably Revo uninstaller. Not using it myself but seems a very good tool.

That's a web site issue. Very annoying but says nothing about the product,

Are you willing to try and find out?

If so please sum up the exact nature of your problem, without ranting, as well as all the security and network related software that is running in the background.

Downloaded csipremium_installer_x86 IT DID NOT WORK.
I used the REVO TOOL after it was suggested by a mod regbooted

I tried it again, IT DID NOT WORK!

I tried the stand alone same results.

Antivirus: Never updated
-update failed. error code 0x80004002 no such interface supported

The Defense+: is not functioning properly do a “run Diagnostics” The diagnostics utility did
not find any problems with your instalation.

In the "more"page I tried using the “Updater” I got a error 0x80072227

Something you can work with. As for me. I’m out of here, in search of protection.

Do you have tools like Netlimiter, zenmap or virtual machines running in the background? You didn’t tell if you have other security programs running in the background. If any of such tools is running try disabling them and try again.

What OS are you on?

Going by what you say you have used AVG. Another of investigating is to see if previously uninstalled security programs have left behind one of their drivers. Following is a tutorial I made for this purpose.

We are gonna take a look to see if there are some old drivers of your previously uninstalled security programs are still around. Go to Device Manager → View → show hidden devices → now look under Non Plug and Play drivers → when you see a driver that belongs to your previous security programs click right → uninstall —> reboot your computer.

When the problem persists make sure there are no auto starts from your previous security programs. Download Autoruns and run it.

This program finds about all auto starts in Windows. This tool can therefore seriously damage Windows when not handled properly. After starting push Escape and go to Options and choose to hide Windows and Microsoft entries, to include empty locations and then push F5 to refresh.

Now check all entries to see if there are references to your previous security program. When you find them untick them. After unticking reboot your computer and see what happens.
