In the previous I always kept the auto sandbox off so I could use the HIPS feature at its fullest. Does the same rule still apply in version 6.0?

Why is Microsoft Silverlight needed for the Virtual Kiosk. It seems to function fine without it and I could careless about the tablet mode.

Silverlight is needed for Tablet Mode and the running of Metro style apps. If you don’t want to use Tablet Mode or the apps, then you don’t need Silverlight.
