Comodo v 2.4.18.184 and Windows Firewall

Have XP Home SP2, Comodo Firewall Pro latest version - v 2.4.18.184 .

Two notebooks connected via wireless to same router.
IP is Verizon, router is Webtel 327W.

Two computers: Computer ‘A’ and computer ‘B’.
Both have wireless capability.

A has Linksys adapter via USB.

B has internal Wireless.

Both computers, A and B work well in connecting to the Internet.

Two printers ‘laser’ and ‘MFP’.

Both printers are hard connected to computer A.

In attempting to set up a wireless network to allow laser printer and mfp (Connected to Computer A) to be accessed by computer b, I have found I must " allow all" in Comodo security setting for computer A, thus just about eliminating the Comodo firewall altogether for computer A.

I must then turn on the Windows firewall to “on”, with file and printer sharing option allowed, to have any firewall at all.

Research suggests this may not be sufficient to protect my computer.

Please advise how to set Comodo to allow Comodo to continue to be the sole firewall in order for me to have a networked printer set up.

If I leave Comodo in the “custom” mode I can not communicate with the printers connected to A from computer B.

Or, worst case, must I go with Windows Firewall and un-install Comodo from computer A?

Please advise in most detail possible.

Cordially,
Robert

I think I solved the problem by adding the zone IP address of the Webtel 327w.

Is this what i was supposed to do?

Ought I turn off Windows Firewall now that Comodo is set back to custom?

Robert

Adding the routers IP using trusted network wizard would be the solution I think.

If CFP is active then windows firewall should be disabled - there is no need for it if you have CFP.

Thank you ,

seems to be working fine now. Windows Firewall turned off…

Now I have to figure a way to install a Netgear Wireless print server (WGPS 606) that has been giving me a heck of a lot of problems.

If print server gets set up properly, then I will not have to have Computer A turned on to print from Computer B…

But I suspect firewall issues may be causing havoc. Preventing WGPS from installing properly. Even Netgear engineers seem baffled.

Will attempt to apply similar logic to allow the zone for the Print server into Comodo.

Robert
