Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you make sure that Comodo is not running in the background after uninstalling it? Is the Windows Security Center showing Comodo even after uninstalling it because Comodo is still running in the background or is it just the uninstaller not telling the Security Center that the Firewall is gone?

This is usually just miscommunication between Security Center and CFP3. You may need to install and uninstall again to make it go away. You can also ctl+alt+del to task manager and see if either cfp.exe or cmdagent.exe are running.
