years providing feedback and still no response from comodo about this issue on the mainsite… in fact, years providing feedback and watching people do the same and some problems continue to stay with us and lots of feature requests or usability requests just ignored… its common to see an change log related to a few issues no one encountered and no corrections for problems we reported… i dont understand it. im sorry, im just too tired and sad about comodo and these kind of things going on for years…
I have to agree… 88)
I fully understand and I have to agree with you.
Point taken to the power of zillion.
I’ve done some tests as well, however I used Zenmate VPN Firefox Extension (Premium trial enabled) instead of Tor.
Firefox Extensions: NoScript, uBlock Origin with custom filters, Malwarebytes Browser Guard, Zenmate VPN.
I am using Comodo DNS (addresses starting with 8.x).
Results:
Brazil (real IP) > Switzerland: Shows correct page (e.g ‘For Home’ menu is there pointing to Free CIS).
Brazil > Brazil: Shows wrong page (the page is titled ‘Breaches Stop Here’, there is no ‘For Home’ menu at the top).
Brazil > United States: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Belgium: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Canada: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Germany: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > China: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > South Africa: Shows correct page.
Brazil > Argentina: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Hong Kong: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > France: Shows correct page.
Brazil > India: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Spain: Shows correct page.
Brazil > Russia: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > Japan: Shows wrong page.
Brazil > NO Proxy/VPN Service: Shows wrong page.
Thanks for trying and confirming the odd connections to Comodo’s Home page.
In my test I’ve used a plain standard portable TOR browser with no extra extensions installed other than the standard NoScript that comes with TOR.
I think everyone who would use the portable TOR browser could easily observe the same odd connection to Comodo’s Home page when changing TOR circuit / country origin.
browser in site is confused, users can stay lost…
menus not help much…
for example: categories stay better if menu showing
“home & office”
- “protection for device”
. comodo antivirus
. comodo internet security
. comodo firewall
. comodo mobile security
“protection & web browser”
-
“web browser”
. comodo dragon
. comodo icedragon -
“extensions”
. online security pro icedragon
. online security pro for comodo dragon or fire dragon
…
any response comodo?
Hi victorlopes,
Thank you. The problem has been reported to web development team. This is important. We are looking into the cases that CISfan and safemode reported.
I did some further testing and found the following dependence.
When using a normal FireFox browser (so not being TOR and not using VPN):
The connection to wrong Comodo Home page happens when the connecion is made on IPv4.
The connection to wrong Comodo Home page does not happen when the connecion is made on IPv6.
To test above both cases: Press CTRL+F5 in FireFox to force a page reload, wait for the page to load then press CTRL+F5 again, repeat. On IPv4 sometimes the wrong home page is loaded.
Could someone confirm this too please?
I disabled all Firefox extensions, as well as Private Browsing, restarted FF and tried to reload the page with CTRL+F5 more than 20 times and it still shows the wrong page.
I can’t test with IPv6 since my ISP is only offering IPv4 at the moment.
The wrong page, as shown below, does not contain the ‘For Home’ menu at the top, just stuff related to Enterprise protection…
To CISfan and safemode
Good eye on noticing that
Comodo site doesn't list CISThe topic starter has a point. There is no CiS or Firewall from https://www.comodo.com/ Before someone says I must have missed it, I used a simple web scanner to try and find any link on that page that has with CIS or Firewall, so unless you can find a sub address like https://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ or figure how to get to belugacdn.com from www.comodo.com Good Luck, youll need to probe a bit

Thank you for testing.
On my end when using IPv4 chances are about 1:1 to either connect to the correct page or to the wrong page.
When using IPv6 the connection is made to the correct page.
Please note that even on the wrong page there are links to CIS found under the HOME & BUSINESS column at the very right bottom of the page (scroll down to the bottom).
Indeed, however here the HOME & BUSINESS column at the bottom only points to links for Free Comodo Antivirus and not CIS nor Comodo Firewall.
I have to admit, the links on the wrong page are most confusing and - I think - most of them are outdated.
But if you go to the bottom of the wrong page and click on Windows Antivirus and then on the top of the new page click on Home (drop down menu) and choose Internet security (PC) this should bring you to the page where you can Download Free CIS and Firewall. Ain’t it easy?
I guess more links on the wrong page will lead to the same Download Free CIS and Firewall page. You just have to find your way through the maze…
now imagine how much users and/or possible users are missing comodo as they can not find anything related to home products? imagine how much comodo is loosing with this , sorry my language, sh$t front page? this situations reflects on everything, from the users not using comodo as for them comodo doesnt offer a free antivirus, to comodo not aknowledging the problems we keep showing as we are just few users… on the big picture, if you have 100 users and 3 complain about something, its to be ignored as its in the error margin of any product… imagine how much we could be getting from comodo is they were able to have more users usig their home products but theyre not… and comodo, as it feels, doesnt care too much about that… atleast the comodo front page problem shows me that… and that problem was reported here for atleast about 6 to 8 months ago…
Interestingly
- wrong page shows at the bottom: © 2021 Comodo Security Solutions, Inc.
- correct page shows at the bottom: © 2020 Comodo Security Solutions, Inc.
Furthermore, FireFox reports that the IPv4 connection of:
- wrong page is a Secure Connection.
- correct page is a Connection is Not Secure.
Really awkward, randomly connecting to 2 different home pages on IPv4 by pressing CTRL+F5 in FireFox.
Even clearing FireFox cache in between pressing CTRL+F5 does not help.
Anyone else (mods? users?) experiencing the random IPv4 connections to 2 different home pages on https://www.comodo.com ?
Or am I the only one?
it seems like comodo just ignored this issue…
