Comodo sandbox containers and webcams in the era of age verification laws.

Given that age verification laws have appeared across the world which will involve the usage of webcams by a lot and which will range from hand gestures to facial and ID picture verification, I think that one day Comodo will have to update its sandbox container application so that malware wouldn’t breach the sandbox host barrier if the camera is turned on.

A possible method which can drastically reduce the usage of webcams and hence the risks of sandbox host barrier breach by a lot is using third party single sign-on tokens to verify age at websites you’re trying to access, the former which can be activated through hand gestures, facial, and ID verification on a one time basis. The method can entail zero-knowledge proofs as well.

Data Stealers of any type (including Webcams) MUST first be able to connect out to pass on the stolen information. Also remember that the Firewall Module of Comodo is ESSENTIAL and works in conjunction with Containment.

So if you run a webcam stealer, the stealer will be contained, and what will occur is:

1). In regular mode you will get a Firewall alert that the contained malware is trying to call out with the stolen info, or
2). If in Silent Mode the attempt of the contained malware to connect out is automatically blocked without user input.

Either way, the stealer can’t steal.
