Comodo missing features

Hi Comodo, I do not know if this thread is the right one to write in.

But I think Comodo is very difficult to handle even though I daily work with IT, there are some lags in the Comodo firewall and I miss before I will use Comodo as firewall again.

Example of a better interface as you have Sygate firewall which is simple and easier to use if Comodo had some of the features that I would gladly use Comodo Firewall.

Hilsen Rebelde.

Can you tell us a bit more what lags you notice and what functionality you would like?

I need a simpler interface as Sygate where you refuse to go online and then go on-line application no matter what, even if you update the program in Comodo, you can bring it forward to not go on the net but if you update the program jumps to the network.

Also think I need a simpler interface to the application’s list as the Sygate firewall has

Do you mean that comodo needs to make new rules if the program changes(Is updated)?
Like zonealarm for example.

If thats the case then I support it to(At least as an option).

If comodo doesn’t detect that the program have changed and apply the old rules, then you can have unwanted programs accessing the internet.

Does comodo remember programs by other means then file name and directory, like MD5 hash or something like that.

Edit: Now I’m sure comodo applys the old rules even tho the program has changed.
I used my old installation of filezilla and connected just fine(As per my firewall rules).

Next I downloaded a new version of filezilla as zip file and extracted the files to a new folder, and then tried to go online but was prompted(As expected).

Then i copied the main exe and replaced the old, and tried to connect again, but this time there was no prompt.

Comodo doesn’t work by comparing md5 hashes like ZA does. But Comodo’s vigilant eye of D+ would have seen the activity and you would have gotten alerted.

In most cases you would see comodo catching it red handed, but if you have a rule setup for a file on a flash/usb drive, and the file gets infecter or replaced on another pc. Then if the new exe behaves like the old, you wont get a new prompt.

It would be nice to have a MD5 check in the Image execution options.

I’m net overly concerned about this, but I would just like to see it as a option in the future.

Edit: Maybe a prompt notifying me that the file have changed, and if I would like to apply the old rules.
It could also be limit it to removable media, but if possible the whole system.

CIS doesn’t store rules for program on external devices like USB/flash drives, network drives etc…

See the above.
