Hi Megaherz33,

We have found that issue may be caused due to Emsisoft Anti-Malware application. Can you please remove and verify if issue can be reproduced.
Thanks in advance.

Hello!

I only have a scanner from Emsisoft, it is not installed in the system.

Wonderful.

Where is this crash report located?
It can be found in C:\ProgramData\Comodo\CisDumps

i cannot enter into settings either via widget and CIS(110.0.6710) UI. i could not able to modify any settings. when installed (yesturday) its working fine. today morning i am having this issue.
system: 1803 (17134.320) x64
it is a clean install.

Does rebooting fix it? Did you install a new (security) program yesterday or did you make other changes to your system or CIS?

no changes have been made just now rebooted the problem was fixed. after clean install of CIS i hibernate didnt shutdown my pc, seems thats the problem.

I returned Windows 10 1803 x64 and installed CIS 10.2.0.6526, no problems. Everything is bright and without glitches. :-TU

Could you try putting your computer in hibernation and starting it again from hibernation three times? That way we can determine if there is an issue with hibernation.

I can confirm a successful upgrade of both the cis v11.0.0.6710 and to the windows 1809, excellent work people of comodo…you battle against bugs in the cis, and win!!.. congrats! :-TU

I installed the latest Comodo Firewall update two days ago and upgraded Windows to 1809 today… Everything has been working pretty smoothly. No more unrecognized files bug.

hi ericJH,
now (sep-4-2018//10:00AM) three times hibernated, no issues CIS is running fine. actually what happend is after from hibernate i cannot enter into settings and my CPU % is 15-30, so i end the cmdagent.exe via windows tskmanager. and i lost CIS database cis ui is showing database number is 1, but it is still there in programdata/cis/signatures 420 MB file is there.

after this i was able to do settings, and i rebooted and updated my database now everything is fine.

Hello
cmdagent from errors in the event log
CIS support says Ok

Version 10.0.17763 and the number 17763
Comodo Internet Security v11.0.0.6710

  • 1 2 39 0x80000000000000 8 COMODO Internet Security Trace Raboliot
  • Error HTTP read from download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/stl/authroot.stl.7z, httpCode: 404 Error Code: 0x80070002 (Le fichier spécifié est introuvable.)

The folder is not present. It had to be deleted when I uninstalled CIS. But I did send it when CIS prompted me to, so it should be enough. I hope.

But I managed to salvage Windows reports. See screenshots.

2 or 10 minutes boot

No, the start is Ok
It’s just the invisible presence in the Windows 10 crash log
Version 10.2.0.6526 was the same

Thank you. The location was an fyi, for you and others, since you had already the bug report with the build in crash reporter.

Thank you for testing

If you encounter this situation again you could try importing the av database. Open the main screen and go to Help (?) → About → Import Virus Database.

Hi,

New here.
Is stopservicelauncher.exe a part of this Comodo Firewall? (I’m still on Comodo 10.2.0.6526)

Today I started up my computer and browser and Avira straight away popped op that it found this: C:/Windows/Temp/Tempfiles/stopservicelauncher.exe with pattern ‘Adware/Adware.Gen2’
It was stopped ofcourse and put in hibernation. Then I clicked on the popup and Avira cleaned it automatically.

Ofcourse being afraid I was infected, I did a full scan with Avira (ticked every tickbox possible in settings) but it didn’t find anything. A scan with SuperAntiSpyware, nothing either. I also did a second full AV scan with Windows Defender plus an additional offline scan. Yet again, nothing found.

After reboot I wanted to see if a scan with Comodo would find perhaps something, but also nothing weird to see in the list afaik. HOWEVER pressing the update button in Comodo showed there are updates available but upon downloading it gave me an error: 0x80070005
AND then Avira immediatly popping up again with the same rubbish. Saying it found that Adware again :[at]

Repeated the whole proces another time, offline scan again, rebooting. Checking Comodo update and AGAIN same popup!

So question: Does this stopservicelauncher.exe have to do with this new Comodo update? And is it bugged still, causing my AV to appear?
Or do I have some real Adware ■■■■ on my computer?

Hi,
I’m currently on CIS 10.2.0.6526 (database version 29773) and the “update” check tells me I’m up to date. This is a Windows 10 version 1803 (17134.285).

Two questions:

  • Is it safe to run the Win10 upgrade to version 1809 with this CIS version?
  • Is there now an upgrade from CIS 10 to CIS 11, or do I really have to uninstall and reinstall, hoping the old config file can be imported?

I remember the upgrade vom CIS 9 to CIS 10 only worked as a fresh installation - and I had to recreate rules and settings from scratch. It was a major pain in the… uh… neck.

Thanks,
–j.

This is a virus. Try to remove it by booting from BootCD DrWeb Cureit! …etc.

Send the rules for export to a file (this will be a backup of the rules), make a clean install v11, then import the rules from the backup. And the head will not hurt.
