Thanks to the Comodo Group for the latest Comodo Internet Security (CIS) Premium v6.1.275152.2801, which I have just upgraded to my home PC equipped with Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Premium (32-bit).
Obviously, I note that the installed CIS cannot be correctly shown on Windows Programs and Features through CIS automatic updater. However, a clean installation of CIS will definitely overwrite the previous installation details, and brings the program version and the date of installation up to date.
Still, the installed CIS v6.1.275152.2801 is shown differently from the one (v6.1.13008.2801) listed on Windows Programs and Features. Something wrong with the installed version?
Thanks to the Comodo Group for the recently updated Comodo Internet Security (CIS) Premium 6.1.276867.2813, which has been installed into my home PC running Windows 7 Premium (32-bit) with Service Pack 1.
Regrettably, the installed CIS Premium is not correctly shown on Windows 7 Programs and Features as raised earlier. Still, I have CIS Premium 6.1.13008.2801 on the list whereas the installed one is 6.1.276867.2813.
Appreciate it much if the Comodo Group will be kind enough to look into the matter, and bring this software to perfection as soon as possible.
Hi AChung,
Some programs do this by design to log and confirm the original installed versions in case of issues or bugs arise down the track.
I have no word from Comodo to confirm, but considering this has been a long running issue I do suspect it is by design for that very reason. :-\
I will try to find out more about this.
Edit: Not forgetting the ‘CIS About’ will show the correct version number.
The installed CIS Premium is shown as 6.1.276867.2813 when clicking on “about”. You may admit that this is confusing if the one is shown on Windows 7 Programs and Features as 6.1.13008.2801. In addition, the dates of installation do not tally with the installed CIS Premium.
Hi AChung,
My guess work posted above is not correct, sorry :-[
It is a known issue, that is intended to be corrected sometime in the future for convenience.
It is a low priority issue, as it does not effect the programs performance.
