testing in multiple VMs with Windows 10 x64 1607 - runs very well and seems very stable.

notes so far:

  • some applications still need to be added in ‘shell injection exclusions’ even when HIPS is disabled, once added no problems
  • AutoHotkey scripts and custom batch/cmd files flagged as malware in first run - (auto file backups, auto kill tasks/browsers and remove sandbox)
  • unable to disable the quick scan at every boot even when disabled in task scheduler seems to recreate every time.
  • unable to change sandbox location, would be nice to have a choice to have the folder on a different drive or ramdisk
  • exporting and importing configurations works very well across different installations, saves a lot of time with all my preferred settings
  • the AV engine seems faster than previous versions

waiting for the final release, looks like it’s a real winner :slight_smile:

After a few days (3 days to be exact) of uptime with lots of sleep + wake up of my PC I get massive latency due to CIS. For example, this means audio playback gets completely messed up with constant drops and jitters.

I am using LatencyMon to measure latency with CIS installed. After reboot, latency is 50 us. After day 1 its 100-200. After day 2 300-400. After day 3 it goes beyond 500 which causes the audio jitters. After uninstalling CIS, this behavior disappears. After reinstalling, it comes back. I am 100% convinced the latency issue is related to CIS.

I am now running a Qihoo 360/Glasswire combination and after 9 days of uptime the measured latency is still 50 us, just like after rebooting. There is some sort of bug in CIS that introduces more and more latency after a few days of uptime. This is not an easy issue to catch, to testers the software appears to be working fine as this issue only shows after days of uptime.

Been trying comodo 10 beta for the last 2 days (Malwaretips gave me the link). so here are my thoughts.

  1. I love the new inteface, very modern and clean. although the scanning window is a little big.
    2 New scanning engine is extremely fast.
  2. Very Light.

BIG CONS:

  1. Cloud scanning in realtime and in full and quick system scans is off by default in both the currently available comodo 8 products and the Beta.
    2 Heuristics is also off by default. Should always be on and set to medium in my opinion as medium is a nice balance.
  2. Hips is off by default, but when it is on its a little intrusive.
  3. Firewall could be quieter and make more decisions on its own , like the norton and bitdefender smart firewalls
  4. No Valkyrie.
  5. Needs a search advisor, like Mcafee site advisor and Bitdefender traffic light.
  6. geek buddy pops up everytime something is found, even if you tell it to never bother you again

But all in all it looks really good.

Thanks for the feedbacks, keep them coming. Our aim is to release CIS 10 new version by the end of this year. Before releasing the major version, we will make a beta sequence for sure and get your feedbacks.

Just 1 Beta for 4 months of a major product upgrade with new features, etc…?
And it seems the same old with Comodo, 1-2 Beta & a buggy final release. So I think probably Beta 2 or Final release is around the corner.

Anyway,

  1. The most important query or the most important option users have requested many times, Is there going to be an option “Ask for Untrusted” instead of autosandbox?
  2. Is there going to be an option “Run only Safe programs”?
  3. Shopping protection in free version or not?

The installer for version 10.0.0.5144 does not allow me to unselect the AntiVirus during installation. It appears to be required. I only want to use the firewall, so please change the installer to make the AV optional like before.

Also, the rules don’t seem to work. Rules that allow incoming connections still block incoming connections. I am now trying to uninstall this broken software, but get error “Failed to initialize installer. Invalid data format”. The solution on page 1 does not work because I don’t have the file: C:\ProgramData\Comodo Downloader\cis\installs\installer_data\installer.init.xml

Thanks, I actually found the file in a different location on my PC: C:\ProgramData\Comodo Downloader\cis\download\installs\installer_data\

Now it’s uninstalled and I’ll continue waiting for newer releases.
