COMODO Internet Security 8.0.0.4344 is released!

Well, my hapiness didnt least…

I am facing some problems with CIS 8 latest final build.

Just to clarify: THERE IS NO LAG ON THE CIS 8 GUI THIS TIME. lets go…

I have no lag when using the CIS8 interface, but I have an CRAZY delay when double clicking cis icon on tray and when clicking the reset sandbox button (that i put in the main gui as a shortcut). Sometimes I have to click more than twice just to see my HDD leds freaking out and then CIS interface shows up (or the reset sandbox guibox).

Tests with my crazy win 7 sp1 x64 pro installation and with other 2 desktops with win 7 sp1 pro unmodified installations and 2 notebooks running win 8.

too sad (again) with COMODO… :frowning:

Are there any under the hood changes when switching configurations like from Internet Security to Proactive Security? or is it just enabling/disabling the settings I can already adjust in Security Settings?

Maybe this answers the question

NOTE: Each mode has its own “config”. So choose your desired mode and make the settings THEN.
For backup, export your favorite mode, and with it the configuration.

After importing later, you need to activate that config first!

Will COMODO release separate 32-bit and 64-bit version installation files for version 8.0.0.4344? I hope so!

Most likely not, they seem to prefer bundling them both together… No love for people with slow internet and/or data caps. :-\

Hi!

Which countries have representation Comodo Group?

Still haven’t seen anything more on after you update to 8.0.0.4344 every time the AV updates it notifies you an update is available to 8.0.0.433 which you already have. Should you update again???

Hello,
is it possible to have the download link of Comodo Antiivirus 8.0.0.4344 x64?

I cannot find it anywhere!

Thanx.

Welcome on the forum
Well only this one but you stil have to do a custom install to chose what you need:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Comodo-AntiVirus.shtml

Hi,
I do not understand what you mean by a custom install.
I had already tried Softpedia which, after you click Download, usually gives you the x86 or x64 version to choose from.

This time there is only one external link. I have downloaded it and tried installing thinking that I would get a choice after. But I did NOT. It is the x86 version that installs in Program Files (x86).
So I stopped the installation and removed it with Revo.

Is there anything I am missing?

Thank you.

If you download the installation file from the first post of this thread then it should automatically detect the right version for you system.

!ot! posts.

I recently reset my Windows 8 installation (to eliminate the possibility of any unknown issues since I got my PC last year) on my Acer Aspire V3-771G-9441 and installed version 8.0.0.4344 of Comodo Internet Security after installing all available updates for my PC (including Windows 8.1 from Windows Store and all the updates that require Windows 8.1) to help ensure Windows was as stable as possible. I’ve had no issues with Comodo Internet Security and didn’t even know a new update had come out (I had installed the next most recent version of 8.x prior to resetting my PC). I proceeded to download the installers for the latest versions of Google Chrome, iTunes, LibreOffice, VLC Media Player, Auslogics Disk Defrag, Defraggler (which I ended up installing instead of Auslogics Disk Defrag), Secunia PSI, and the software program for my Kodak printer. Never did I get any messages from Comodo Internet Security. I love how silent it is. I’m using the default configuration with the following changes:

  • Messages from Comodo Message Center are off
  • Welcome screen at startup is off
  • Desktop widget is off
  • Update interval for the definitions was changed to 1 hour (that way I don’t have to manually update the definitions if I haven’t been on my PC for a while)
  • Scheduled quick and full scans are off
  • IPv6 filtering is enabled

I look forward to the future updates!

This version of CIS is the most effective and trouble free one that I have used except for one issue. After booting up my computer, the first time I try to run a virtualized browser I get an error message. The second time I can run the virtualized browser without any errors.

Does this happen with every browser you have installed?

Yes, every virtualized browser I have does the same thing. Once I have tried to run any of them, all will work since then.

It looks like a minor bug to me. Do you have other security program installed that could interfere?

CIS is the only security program that I have.
