Comodo Internet Security 3.9.75615.498 RC2 Bug Reports

@DrPete post:332

Never got a response.
Comodo F/W is running but not showing up in task bar until I open the application.

I figured it was because I started with .496 and used update to .498.
So I cleaned everything and no other security programs running.

XP Pro SP3 current updates.

Reinstalled .498 and after reboot showing up in task bar.
Turned off machine and reboot, not showing up in task bar?

While the f/w is running and doing it’s job I always start (open) the application to be sure.
Now most people are not going to do this, so is there something to fix this?

Thanks,
Dr Pete

I got that glitch too and Im’g going to live with it

Anyway an helpful member posted about existing workarounds for these kind of issues.

@JamesFrance post:2

I often had several tray icons missing on my XP SP3. This is what cured it for me:

Many people have claimed that a suggestion known as the Ostuni Workaround (named after Francesco Ostuni, who first wrote about it) solves the problem. This is only available if you have Windows XP SP2 (which you ought to have, by now.)

Open “My Network Places” and in the left-hand Tasks panel, select “Hide icons for networked uPnP devices”. (If you’re using Windows Classic folders you’ll have to change the Folder Options to “Show common tasks in folders” to see this. This stops the display of the icons but does not disable the services needed for some devices to work.
