COMODO Internet Security 3.5.52396.411 BETA 3 Released [CLOSED]

As per

Termination protection is unable to prevent termination using spt 12th method.

I don’t know if that termination is not protected by design.

Adding \RPC Control\IcaApi to pseudocom protected entities will be able to trap that termination attempt indirectly.

I’ve not tested if the full CIS installation features an updated config with \RPC Control\IcaApi pipe

Sry gibran, forgot to post it here.
But I wounder if it is really necessary because with SSTS kill methods you can easily kill other processes.

Is this regression bug confirmed on 32bit CIS betas as well?

CFP 3.025 32 bit should be able to pass all SSTS tests except SockSniff

Comodo fails to block the SPT 12 kill method unless you add the COM interface you mentioned to protected ones.

With kill3f you can kill other processes than Comodo one’s.
You get a warning but it doesn’t help to deny them, the process just gets terminated.

Using CIS I got similiar results.

In order to pass that test I had to additionally enable the Termination protection for that app.
The test is passed but the app crashes afterwards.
EDIT: not sure if it pass because drwatson usually hang on my pc and the crashing application cannot be closed until drwtsn32 is terminated.

This is a valuable finding, please post about kill3f in the bugreporting topic too.

after CIS release… we concentrate on bringing threatcast and few other powerful technologies into CIS

Since CIS first beta release, the on-demand malware scanner has been removed from CFP GUI. I believe it is now under CAV GUI section. Although I didn’t check it. I bet that there are some other users who would like to have an ability to use the simple on-demand malware scanner even through they did choose to install CFP only. Could we have it back? If you don’t want to incorporate it with CFP GUI again, then maybe it could be added as a shortcut to Menu Start.

That’s wonderful. Could you at a given point publish a roadmap of your planning on what is approximately when to be expected.

Love your product. Keep the good work up. (J) (:CLP)

+1

This is great…another release!! Don’t know what are the changes though…Most of the bugs are gone…And it runs much more smoother than the already fast Beta2 in conjunction with BOCleaner and Memory Firewall and I hope it will be integrated in the public release. So I can recommend to all of my friends who are using paid products…

Would the interface of the AV component be the same as the stand-alone CAV? May be in the future releases…I’m very much hopeful…

I’m still not switching from my previous registered product…Comodo kicks A**. Yeah!!

Keep it up Comodo Team!!

Thanks Everyone… :BNC

I am glad you are so enthusiastic about Comodo… and it will get better and better… (:WIN)

Yeah, or like a timeline about the future. :BNC

things will be clearer as a timeline after the public release of CIS.

thanks
Melih

Thanks for that. (R)

question COMODO IS 3.5 Final in German? 88)

After the final release of CIS, Comodo will provide translation tools and a German translation should follow shortly after that

Thank you for your efforts! (CNY)

Some of my experiences:

  • No more Ooops you found a bug at system startups.

  • A full system scan now scans less files than with BETA2 ?!

  • A full system scan does now stay nice on memory usage 30 - 40 MB all the way (used to eat all, reboot needed).

  • Overall system performance is slower than with BETA2 it appears to slowdown the system where BETA2 did not. I’m currently running with AV disabled because of this (Vista SP1, Enterprise, x32).

  • AV does not report files that are “locked” while doing a full system scan (very useful information).

  • AV does not report files that are “password” protected while doing a full system scan (very useful information).

I have a few questions, but at the time I was using Beta 393. On that version, I failed to see any reference to email protection and I also saw no file scanning integration into the context menu. Are those two options available or did I miss something. And if they were not present in .393 are they present in .411?
