Excuse me, where did you guys get the beta v4.0 of CIS? I looked for it in the Beta Corner, but haven’t found any clues. I really don’t want to push it, but I’d like to try it, maybe it won’t crash my system under certain circumstances, because - although there were like a dozen updates released since I’ve made my bugreport - my (firewall) issue hasn’t been fixed in v3.x yet. Is there any way for me to test it?

Mods only at the moment until further notice.

With bases.ca 3505:
CRC32: 9108136D
MD5: AF9495FA5E1757CCDB2B3CF0460B1137
SHA-1: 5BDF97D7A8B3C0B8DB49404A55306BA950B1B0C2

Well, I’m not surprised… Thanks for your reply anyway.

updated to DB 3505, bases.cav:
size: 98.472.349 bytes
MD5= 39d63eff5f977eed21181200703198b9
SHA1= 74e4eaf4e6cf39c4d3b0ff73323f3c7d4f2ea378

LOL…
Who let the cat walking over the keyboard?

Questions:

  1. Do all these DB’s (same number version, but diff hashes) protects against all the same bacteria? Of course they have diff data…
  2. Can someone elaborate a test to prove this? (I don’t know if it’s possible…)
  3. It wasn’t supposed that with the new DB/581 all were the same? (everybody shouldn’t have missed any update…)
  4. Are these OK?

(I used free “WinDigest” to get those MD5 and SHA-1 - for those who doesn’t know… google it! and left-click over the file…)

The update to 581 fixed another problem. The one where the update would stall.

With CIS 4 pre-beta bases.cav 3505:

Size : 98.3 MB - 98,358,490

CRC32 8A2079B8
MD5 0B7294AED0566560F62F30850BF09456
SHA-1 F9B9C2098C8E5C7A4DD6AA748546E77B2C1E0934

The update to .581 fixed the update-failure for me too.

Thanls Comodo (and especially Umesh) for taking the issue seriously and for working with us to get it resolved!

bump
It would be nice if a moderator could send a PM to him about this.

I’ll take care of this :-TU

Hi,

We are coming up with another fix next week, which is expected to fix this issue.
We have identified the issue where at times merging of updates may not be as in expected order internally and this difference can arise.

Thanks

Thanks, it worked.

Thanks for the info. Nice to see such progress.

Since my build of CIS was not effected by the AV database freeze, I am still using it. So any problems with that? Currently on DB number 3512.

Nope.

Lol that was short and sweet

Cool. Thanks for the heads up.

CIS “updated” to db 3336 and told me to reboot.

After reboot, it downloaded 97,2 mb (db 3506). Reboot. Update.

I now have db 3513.

Size: 93,6 MB (98 159 703 byte)

SHA-1: 9A93E23A63670569232F2F11A6D7AAF050222C14

After the update to 581 I have not had a single issue with AV updates. The auto-update is running flawlessly and my VSDV is at 3513. Even running a manual update to the AV DB it’s response is very quick stating the database is up-to date.
Great job!! with the exception of lack of information and notification before the new “581” was released.

Yeah so it mine now that I have checked tho I did not have to reboot or the like.
