Thank you for responding. I am no longer having difficulty with files being deleted instead of quarantined. I am not sure what caused the problem, but it is gone. I will re-post if the problem returns.

I also have this problem (Parental Control not staying enabled), using Vista x64 SP2.
For even more people havig that problem check here:

https://forums.comodo.com/other_general_gui_etc_bugs/cis_310_parental_control_impossible_to_activate_the_alerts_suppression-t42197.0.html

—> This is an annoying bug, effectively rendering the parental controls useless.
Please fix it in an “emergency fix” build before v4.0.

All the best, raynor

here is your answer to parental control settings

Hi,

Just encountered a bug in this version of CIS as this file is quite important to Photoshop CS2 thought I had better post it

  1. Operating System XP Pro SP2 32bit. Processor AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 4200+

  2. Other Security and Utility Software Installed
    SpywareBlaster

  3. Since installing CIS 3.10.102363.531. In D+ My Own Safe Files, a file for Adobe Photoshop CS2 is not being retained. This is happening on two separate PC’s with the same operating system only difference is one has a single rather than dual processor.
Specifically the file Adobelm_Cleanup.0001 (published by Macrovision Europe Ltd.) is shown in the ‘files waiting for review window’. As usual I add it to my own safe files, in previous versions of CIS that is the end of the matter and it is not flagged again.
But now every time Adobe Photoshop CS2 is used this file Adobelm_Cleanup.0001 is waiting to be reviewed again and is no longer in the my own safe files folder. This file has been submitted through the CIS file submission process and now comes up as already submitted.

  4. Have tried to resolve my manually adding the file without success. Do not know what else to do as this problem was not evident in CIS 3.9 or as far as I can remember not in CIS 3.10 Ver 530

  5. Memory Dumps N/A

  6. Attached screenshots Pending Files Screenshot

  7. False Positive Reporting N/A

  8. This specific file ‘Adobelm_Cleanup.0001’ is essential to the operation of Adobe Photoshop CS2 and if it is blocked the program will not run so it is important that it is either given safe file status or able to be retained in my own safe files. I don’t know if this is isolated to this particular file as I have no other files to test the ‘My Own Safe Files’ feature with. As noted above this did not occur with CIS 3.9 and I did not see it on CIS 3.10 Version 530, but this last version was only installed on one PC as it prevented the game Techland Xpand Rally from running, cured in version 531

I’m using the latest release of CIS (3.10.102363.531). Today i’ve noticed that the D+ went a little bit dizzy. I was dowloading some archive files with utorrent, but the D+ got a bit confused about them. See the attached picture.
The second and the most important thing is that this version is my second installed one after 3.9 RC2, and it still has the Firewall driver bug on my system (Windows XP x64 SP2 up-to-date) which hangs the svchost process at 50% CPU usage after the first online contact has been established (WHEN the DCHP service IS ENABLED). I know, nothing like this has been listed on the bugfix list in the recently released versions, but i just wanted to make sure that you won’t forget it. Currently, i can live w/o the DHCP service, so it’s not a big deal, but i’m still wondering, why was 3.9RC1 working flawlessly w/ DHCP enabled… I don’t know, what causes this exactly, i tried to reproduce this on a virtual machine, but i nothing like it occured. I’m not sure that it’s my fault - althrough my system was installed 2 years ago - beacuse like i mentioned it before, it occured after 3.9 RC1, but i couldn’t reproduce it with 3.9 RC1. I hope you can do some more investigation about it. I’m sticking to this system, i like XP x64, and the worst case will be that i’ll have to reinstall the system, which i don’t have in my mind, beacuse everything else works very well on this system.
If you need more information about this, feel free to ask for, or take a look at my older posts - if you didn’t do so yet - i’d mentioned everything neccessary in those post.
P.S.: sorry for my bad english - i’m working on it

i think i can resy my case now. or is this not enough?

edit: cited bug report snipped, kail

Rest your case? What case? We know that bugs are being reported in the bug topic, that’s the idea. You have your very own topic on the pop-up issue and you’re ignoring it. What’s the purpose of this?

NOTE You need to address this v941726. To date, you’ve spammed both the 3.10 Release & Bug topics. In the Release topic you a started a multi-page issue on CIS’s pop-ups (which is now 5 pages btw, right here) and now you’ve found the Bug topic, you posted the above. I’m sure there has just been a misunderstanding or something, but you’re really not helping other users by what you’re doing. In fact, it’s causing the Mods work moving your posts (the above I had put back) and it is detracting from what I thought was an important issue to you (CIS pop-ups). More importantly, you’re breaking the forums rules and it will not be long before you get in trouble with a Mod at this rate.

edit

Please, do not post OT in this or other boards.

this isnt just MY issue. this isnt a special topic! i amsaying fix the pop ups 1st. then you will hear my other issues. why does evryone keep saying i am the only one with a pop up issue? jeez! read your own forums for crying out loud

whats OT?

OT = Off Topic.

Please understand, I’m just trying to help. However, this is a special topic. As described in the first post, it is intended for CIS 3.10 Bug Reports. Your posts are not bug reports. The first post you made might have been, if it had contained the correct information (see the first post) & was posted in the correct topic (ie. this one). But, you posted into the 3.10 Release topic… where, in general, users are encouraged to post their initial impressions of the new release. Since you posted quite a bit into the Release topic, your posts were eventually split off into their own separate topic…

Does Comodo have too many pop ups?

… this is where all your posts are. They were not deleted and you have not been censored in anyway. In fact, once I know you have seen this post I shall move this little group there as well to a new appropriately named topic… discussing forum usage or something.

As for the other things, I personnally have no control over what or when anything gets fixed. Additionally, I never said that you were the only person with this issue, I did suggest that you might be in the minority with this issue and you firmly rejected the notion. Maybe you’re confusing me with someone else or, perhaps, you didn’t see that I said the topic was yours?

However, I really do strongly recommend changing your approach. I don’t think you’ll get very far with CIS’s developers saying things like you have.

So, no more OT posts please & do visit the topic on the pop-up issue. There are a few out-standing questions/clarifications for you on this pop-up issue there. Many thanks.

PS Forum Policy: Well worth a read, you agreed to abide by the Forum Policy when you joined.

Rickrev, set your Defense+ to “Safe Mode”. It’s the same thing, but this way you will never see your list populate again (the files “waiting to be reviewed”).
I never use that anyway, although some people might want to keep track of changes.

COMODO SUPPORT STAFF - PLEASE READ THIS THREAD AND TRY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM

Bug Report - CIS

  • Anti Virus Bugs
    • Re: A/V Database Update slow

In my opinion, the A/V update process is an absolute disaster - it takes far too long and eats up PC I/O and memory to such an extent that it can lock up a PC for the duration of the update. CIS should not have been released with this obvious design fault.

There have been numerous post related to problems with the A/V update process. Surely if there was a candidate for an emergency upgrade to CIS 3.10, then this is it.

One of the most frustrating and disappointing aspects is that Comodo Support seem to be ignoring the users’ plight and have not responded on this matter. They need to acknowledge the widespread problems and propose a solution and a timescale for its implementation.

Can is the operative word here. It doesn’t impact everyone this way.

This is what makes writing software so fun. There are countless different system configurations out there, and you are guaranteed to be incompatible with some of them.

Personally, without the balloon notifications, I don’t even know when updates are happening. I don’t have any abnormal disk usage and even though I’m working on my computer, I don’t notice any performance hit with any of the applications I’m using.

Perhaps if you list your system particulars, they can chase the issue down?
