Comodo Internet Security 2024 v12.3.2.8124 BETA

So nothing about new technologies, just aesthetic preference. Seems trivial to me.

And yes, I know, that’s why I said that with so many bugs… it was better not to expose them to the light of day if ā€œweā€ guessed we wouldn’t be able to solve them quickly…

In that case, it’s better to have a beta where you report directly to a dedicated team.

What’s more, beta testers feel more involved and valued.

Because right now… devs feedback…

It’s a bit like larks in springtime…

There was a lot of feedback, I believe the team must be small to fix so many bugs in a short time.
I think the release of new versions of CIS takes a long time.
If you need help, hire me… lol

With all the anomalies I’ve raised, if they’d had to pay me, it would have cost them a fortune…

I should have had a lifetime license a long time ago. :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: :dollar:

Let’s ask for our leave. lol

It still works great. Why the tension?

If you can let us know that everything is really ok.
Take that flight on the rocket with us… hahaha
Because to be serious, I think there are still a lot of bugs that need to be fixed. That’s what we’re talking about here in this topic.

No nervous tension :slightly_smiling_face:

On the contrary… Just a few laughs to lighten the mood…

Helps you wait for Comodo CIS 2025

I already smile a lot when you talk. Comodo CIS 2025… lol

I wish we all had lifetime licences to be honest but then Comodo needs subscription fees for their services.

The space shuttle was cool, cooler than the weird rockets they’re using now

It’s a cleverly designed rocket, ready to traverse the universe and its dangers: that’s why it uses the original Comodo CIS theme.

I hope you’re paid enough as moderators who work tirelessly for the brand, and that you can afford to buy licenses at discounted rates…

Anyway, I sincerely hope so.

Back to the Comodo CIS beta:

Has certificate-only validation been improved?

Because malware with a valid certificate will slip through Comodo’s protection if the weakness of virus signatures (AV) strongly claimed by the Staff (helped by the slow update rate of the AV database) allows it to be bypassed.

In other words, with an insufficiently endowed antivirus database (as intended by Comodo), software with a valid certificate, but hijacked or infected, can slip through the cracks of Comodo CIS detection.

This is not a good thing to know.

Do you know if this will be improved with Comodo CIS 2025?

And if the Antivirus database will finally be expanded?

In particular, it’s possible to have a valid signature and still be a PUA very close to an undesirable…

This is a very strong expectation on the part of our customer base.

Can anyone give us an update on this?

Can’t Comodo team up with another brand to share a common antiviral base (which would belong to both)?

Really shared, not a subcontractor of Bitdefender…

Also… Don’t let AMD customers down… TDT and the support it will provide for your product won’t exist for them… So this promotion is useless for a big part of the market…

Any news on this subject?

Since we’ve heard nothing, I think they’ve been working hard to fill these gaps. Can we have some feedback?

Many people (like us) make purchases out of loyalty to the Comodo brand, but it would be good to put our minds at rest.

We aren’t paid and neither are we staff.

No, it won’t. Even a file that has a valid certificate and has been counter signed must also be vetted by Comodo prior to be considered trusted.

This was seen by the original builds of Magniber ransomware and the Tax filing stealer from a couple of years ago. In both these cases Comodo contained them when everybody else thought all was fine.

Great friend, your comment was very good, it was great, now we hope the CIS or XCitum team can respond to me.
I went to the XCitium forum, left a lot of questions questioning CIS, they said they would give me the answer when they got an answer from the Development team, but I think they are not worried about COMODO CIS. since they use the Xcitium endpoint.
I’ll be posting what I posted in the Xcitium comments below:

Questions about COMODO x XCitium:
Hello Xcitium team,
I have several doubts that would not fit into this first theme that I am creating now, but let’s go, I will try to clarify these doubts, if possible, someone can answer, I would be grateful.

1 - Who is now developing all the security software that used to be from Comodo and is now from XCitrum?
2 - I want to know why CIS updates take longer than competitors?
3 - Why do competitors have the program updater and CIS does not?
4 - Why do competitors have Windows temporary file cleaning and CIS not?
5 - Why is the competition’s database larger than CIS or XCitium?
6 - XCitium or CIS observing the competitor, KASPERSKY, you’ve already seen his system, and it’s very robust and full of features, which he doesn’t see fit to install to test, and it’s something very big. Now comes the question. Why don’t CIS or XCtium have all these features like their competitors, KASPERSKU, BITDEFENDER, NORTON AND ESET?
7 - Because CIS and XCitium do not have an extension for the browser like Kaspersky, ESET, NORTON, AVAST, AVG and others.
8 - As CIS and XCITIUM stopped participating in the AV-TEST and AV-COMPARATIVES tests, these systems test antiviruses and many users choose their antiviruses based on these tests.
9 - Why don’t CIS and XCitium have a password manager?
10- Why doesn’t CIS or XCitium have a tool that many tools have to check your email and data leaks on the dark web?

Note: I’ll stop here because there would be more, but I prefer to talk at another time, if someone could explain to me all these doubts that were raised here on this topic I would be grateful.

Remembering that we are open to a calm and friendly debate.
Because there are things that in 2024 other software have and CIS and Xcitium don’t have, I’m worried.

Big hugs to everyone. Let’s start the debate responsibly and without fanaticism.

French language is not fixed too

Put a crowdin or git plateform for translation.

When it was Alexander Suvak how manage translation crew, it was serious and perfect

Now this is the jungle

Friend nowadays cannot only be good as an anti-logger.
It has to be as good as its competitors on the market.
Can you answer the list I made above in the comment.
There I show that there are a lot of problems that the CIS has to improve.
