I went from CIS to CAV. The firewall is often not seen by Windows 10 and Windows messages appeared. So for now I’m using the Windows 10 firewall.
In CAV I have enabled everything and HIPS for a few days I leave it in learning and then I will set it up for sure and I will see if it doesn’t give me problems.
I noticed that the files recognized as malware in real time and then quarantined remain on the desktop and disappear after updating the screen, while some on PEN Drive remain and disappear only after scanning and cleaning.
What do you think?
I want to report a bug :
And also… Windows Operating System is constantly getting blocked, dasHost.exe too… in firewall all their requests are blocked for some reason…
My settings : I have proactive mode on, HIPS on safe mode, Firewall (safe mode) settings : All five advanced firewall settings are on (ipv6, loopback, fragmented ip transmits, protocol analysis, arp spoofing)
UserWithBrain,
According to your screenshot, could you try to select “All Type” item in the “Show files” drop down list?
Following behavior is occurred with File list:
All files filter is defined by default.
But if you select any other filter (e.g. Executables) and click OK. After that Executables filter will be selected every time you open this page of menu.
And it doesn’t depend on which way you open this list: via Settings or via Unrecognized button on widget.
So, filter selected by user rewrites default settings.
According to blocked system. Could you please make screenshots of settings pages where you can see blocked Windows Operating System and dasHost.exe.
Hi Guys,
clean installation yesterday and so far everything is ok :-TU
About that 6 unrecognized - yeah it worked to switch to All types but I can’t delete it, or set it as trusted cus it won’t save when I click ok… that menu is totally bugged…
Regarding the blocked Windows apps…
I always unblock It but it always gets blocked again… I even put it in Global Exceptions list and it’s still getting blocked constantly…
Unblock application menu:
Firewall:
and found another bug…
I cancelled full scan as it lasted already 5 hours and was at about 20% and the threats that were found were false positives so I clicked to add them to exclusions, it said error 0x80004004 whatever and then I got loop of message boxes saying “Close window with results?” which i have now at about 50 times here and can’t close them, CIS ram usage is at about 1GB …
You can only update from 6810 RC to 6810 final release. If you are using an older beta version such as 6808 then you need to uninstall as it won’t be able to update to stable release.
Because you have a device connected on your network sending Gratuitous ARP packets which anti-arp spoofing blocks, you can not stop these blocks unless you disable anti-arp spoofing. No amount of creating application or global rules will do anything to stop WOS from showing up as a blocked application.
I don’t have any device connected to my network… that is the problem. What could be the source of the problem?
Check the source and destination IP address column, it identifies the host sending those ARP packets.
installed in 2 machines this edition and all is running fine.
23, if possible, do an clean install of windows and try it again. it seems that its related to your installation only…

Starting at v3 (how many years have passed!), the COMODO team is trying to overcome a bug when the cmdagent.exe fails to overload the processor.
Make another good deed that all users will be happy with - make the program more friendly, change the icons for different firewall modes, as is done for other products. After all, the active user has to constantly click in the tray to find out which mode is on! Must be a visual indication! Doesn’t the COMODO team really understand this?
I reinstalled CIS instead of CAV.
I also want to use the firewall, at most if the Windows 10 message of non-recognition should reappear it will be disabled, so the CIS firewall remains active, the Windows 10 message is just a useless notification.
After reinstalling CIS at the moment everything is working properly, the notification message about the lack of Windows 10 firewall has not been released. The PC is quiet at rest, the CPU fan does not start up, so it means that resource consumption is at a minimum.
With CIS I feel safe in opening any file, so I know that at most the sandbox protects me. Only resolve the fact that the files, even if quarantined, remain tracks on the desktop and disappear after refreshing.
Now the text and then eventually will follow other feedback to improve it.
Great COMODO team!
Thank you!
Nunzio.
How is the new AV engine different? Does it run lighter than before?
I have tried several times to update Comodo Firewall and failed. Is Comodo going to enable the program to update via the internet? I’ve tried that as well and my program says I am up to date.
It does run lighter than before. It is noticeably faster f.e. when opening folders in Explorer or Xnview. There are numerous reports of users reporting it runs lighter.
The engine is the same but has code has been rewritten and new C++ has been used:
CAVWP.exe has a peak working set of 650meg. Just me, or does that seem REALLY high for just one of the 5 processes?
It’s not my installation only.
anyone encountered hips invisible pop ups when multiple one after another at paranoid settings
Peak Working Set may be high if the av was updated during the Windows session.
