Hi All,
We are pleased to introduce a new tool COMODO Hijack Cleaner v1.0.0, which covers the areas, we have not covered yet.

Thanks for all the feedback on beta release.

Following are main functions of it:

  • Makes sure all browser extensions are safe
  • Ensures your browser uses a legitimate search engine
  • Checks your home page and new blank page don’t link to malware
  • Makes sure your host file has not been poisoned
  • Ensures desktop shortcuts open the correct browser and not a fake version
  • Makes sure your computer (browser) uses a trusted DNS provider
  • It is portable. It is designed as a tool. Simply unzip the file and execute the binary

You can see screen shots and usage in online help.

Supported browsers:
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Comodo Dragon and Ice Dragon.

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 8 and Windows 10

Roadmap:

  • We have added this tool in Comodo Cleaning Essentials toolkit.
  • Detection capabilities of this tool will be added in other Comodo products starting with Comodo Cloud Antivirus by 3rd quarter of 2018.

Can you guys please prepare a video on infected machine? People can see CHC on action, just my 2 cents.

For me, when I run it and click accept to the ToS, it just closes/crashes.

Tbh, very questionable direction from COMODO.
You have already Cleaning Essentials. Very strong tool, which barely updated, but still very powerful. Why instead of improving CCE to create another 100th browser cleaner, which won’t clean most of possible problems, because they won’t use such simple attack mechanisms?

A manager who said to create Dragon browser and this tool instead of focusing on support and improvement and bug-fixing of previously released top level products just destroys COMODO company from inside.

Is this an abandoned product? The DL link DLs what appears to be version 1.0. 1.0 after 3 years.
