I’ve been using CIS for quite a while now, and the last few months I noticed something odd in my system while gaming, where hotkeys wouldnt register in the game and pressing anything made a “beep” sound, while the game window lost focus and something else without taskbar button or anything visible was anywhere.
This hidden window would stay up for a few seconds, 5-10 max. I set a screenshotter program to take a screenshot of current active window via a system-wide hotkey, to see if I could find out something about this when it happened. When this occurred, I used the hotkey fast to take a screenshot, and the resulting file was a screenshot of the window directly below the hidden one, always exactly 474x381 pixels of size, so my next conclusion about this was that there was an invisible window popping up, maybe with alpha on 0?
So I changed my screenshotter program to include the title of the captured window in the screenshot, and when it happened again and captured it, the hidden window had “COMODO” in it.
From the information you have given I am not clear whether this is a bug/issue.
For the moment I will transfer you to help so you can work through this issue with users and mods in this forum and hopefully resolve it. I hope that is OK.
Please ask any mod to move this report back to the bugs forum if it becomes clear that it is a bug/issue.
The screenshots only show the contents of whatever was behind this hidden window, so that would be a bit pointless. Imagine I’m browsing these forums with chrome maximized, then this thing with COMODO happens… if I take a screenshot at that time, the resulting image is a 474x381 pixels screenshot (“cropped”) of chrome, centered in the middle of the screen.
The screenshot is really just whatever is behind the invisible window at the time, screen centered and always the same size, so all you will see is that cropped area of a videogame I had at the time (I noticed right away because the game music stops when the application loses focus to another window or program, so I hit my screenshot app hotkey right away):
I programmed my screenshotter to take the window title and this was it (after the "capture ~ ")
Ok will do, but why does there have to be a hidden window for this stealing focus, really bad thought off when it was coded, and makes the user have to manual check. Guess I’ll try version 6 soon.
