trying out comodo version 3 few days ago I would have to say my wish list for the final version would be.
Better user interface, In my mind its not well layed out or labeled at the moment. I don’t mind defense+ but I would like to point out it should remain a firewall and a firewall only.
To many times have I gotten a new firewall to find it does things that take up ram/increase the footprint and slows down the general operation of the pc.
Despite that fact that you can disable Defense+ if you wish… you really should check out CFP3’s memory/resource foot-print, it is the smallest I’ve every seen for a firewall… let alone a firewall and HIPS.
I would like (if possible) a repair function or a error finder for the next firewall that can fix up errors rather than having to completly reinstall the firewall.
I think something of the sort is already there.

Would still like to be able to choose to see resolved addresses in the log and choose which way I would like to display them (IP address or FQDN)

Would like to see an explanation at the bottom of the window for each entry in both log windows just like version 2.4 does.

Would like to be able to right-click the systray icon and bring up the logs from there.

Would like to be able to sort the ‘More’ window log entries from the most recent first.

Would like to see the first log window update in real-time. The ‘More’ log window wouldn’t need that feature but if you get time. ;D
As you can tell I am a ‘log’ man. I live and die by logs so the more info in the logs and the easier they are to bring up and read the happier I am.

I still don’t know what to say about the more button, but i think it’s interesting. The logs aren’t constantly moving, so it’s easier to read.
Maybe an option between both on the Log window, and remember the choice?
Maybe give the first window an adjustable setting to show only so many entries and that might keep the resource usage down to a minimum as I usually use the first window for just a quick look to see what is happening then use the ‘More’ window to get the bigger picture if need be since that is the main storage area for the whole log. That might make the first window load up the log entries faster.

My request is to have all COMODO products as well as CFP to be user skinnable I know some folks have touched on this but I like the Idea because this would just be powdered sugar on the donuts lol lil mac
But seriously skinning would add a whole new range of customers/Users to the Forums I can see this being talked about all over the graphics community! Also should have the ability to turn skinning off completely just use default system windows and fonts etc…

The tray icon, i have two ideas:
When comodo shows its showing information passing though itself, with the arrows, i’d like a little bar or some way to tell what mode it is in.For example, a little bar above it thats red for block, blue for custom, green for allow all. Dont know if this is in the beta or not, but personally i’d like a new tray icon.

Basically show the starned icon when theres no information going though, but when there is bar’s appear at the top, see the mockup to understand what i mean. However, I believe i’ve seen this from another firewall so I cant be sure if its legal or anything.
Also, in the network control rules, the ability to name AND group rules, but im pratically almost expecting this in the next release anyway. I’d check out beta3 but i’ve got quite a list of rules and stuff, dont want to lose it…

Anything to reduce warnings of OLE automation or at least make it easier to understand what the application is trying to do as I generally get confused when these pop up
what happened to the firewall events viewer in Beta 3?
You have to refresh the logs manually. Why can’t logs be added automatically in realtime?
And it would be nice to have the added details in the bottom pane like how it was available in version 2.4. And mabye a WHOIS lookup capability would be nice.
What if you could right click on a firewall log have option to add that source IP address to My Network/My Blocked. This would be great.
