Comodo Firewall fails to load for limited account user [RESOLVED]

Windows XP SP2 - Comodo Firewall v3.0.18.309

When logging in as limited user (non Administrator) CF fails to load - failure advice appears asking to use diagnostic
tool - click yes and reply is that administrator privileges are needed to run diagnostic tool - catch 22

Give the same user Administrator rank and every thing is fine.

Q is - How to get CF to load on limited/restricted logon account.

Hi Alwyn J

Welcome to the Comodo Forums

I do not personally have an answer to your problem but I checked with our other mods and here is what I have come up with so far from goodbrazer

Some of my thoughts regarding this case: exit CF after logging in and launching shortcut with "run as admin", run diagnostics if necessary. Otherwise, complete uninstall and reinstall of CF. And maybe worth to check if windows firewall, security center are disabled.

Let us know if this is a help to you, sorry we didn’t get back to you before now.

Hello John

Thank you for your reply.

Had already tried the Run As option - did not work - although I had not exited CF prior to the attempt - so it still may be a viable alternative to others with a similar problem.

I ended up using the complete uninstall/reinstall method - CF now loads for all accounts okay but the reinstall seems to have produced a second (minor) problem - regardless of user who logs on CF now takes approx. 5+ minutes to initialise. (Opened new topic)

Again - Thank You

Alwyn J.
