Bitdefender ranks as one of the highest antiviruses around (often ranked the highest actually).
Trafficlight only scans HTTP traffic (unless you have a browser plugin, in which case it does more), just like Avast’s Web shield.
I’m not saying to disable all of Avast, only the HTTP traffic scanner, aka the web-shield module. So, if they’re compatible, it would solve the problem by filling all the security holes. Right?
I didn’t know that, is there somewhere I can get more information on how that is so?
I know it can cause stability & performance issues, but I didn’t know it could cause security to be compromised…unless it creates bugs that the malware exploits, but I wouldn’t think a malware would spread very well if it relied on that (but that’s just my guess).
Also, what I’m suggesting is only to replace Avast’s webshield module, not have two HTTP scanners installed at once. The only overlap I’d think might happen would be between Comodo’s Firewall & Bitdefender’s web-shield (Trafficlight) since they are both protecting the network, which is why Avast’s new webshield conflicts with Comodo’s Firewall.
Yes Comodo does not have control on outbound traffic under Windows 7. Niether Windows firewall. A pity.

…also im not a advanced user so i don’t know what rules and exclusions and such should be made for each firewall to work effectively…
So better to try other firewall because Comodo has a steep learning curve. Try to learn using a simpler firewall and when you feel ready, and if everything has been worked out between Comodo and Avast!, switch to Comodo later on.
Sorry, but are you personally using Comodo Firewall?
I have several pirated programs at my PC. Yes, it’s not fair, but whatever. Adobe products, Slysoft products, Alcohol 120% - all of them find illegal license via Internet very quickly with disabled Comodo firewall. With enabled one everything is OK.
My OS is Windows 7 x32 Ultimate, could you please clarify my situation with a view Comodo Firewall is not able to control outbound traffic?
CIS including the firewall is completely capable of protecting you on its own. There is only problem when you have avast 7 installed with the webshield.
I’m disgusted. I want to have the free choice to use Avast Free and Comodo Firewall, both of them working perfectly together but ther is a six months long dispute between the two companies (both AV vendors) about who’s the fault. Here’s a link to the latest discussion thread in the Avast forum:Avast 7 and Comodo Firewall
By the way, is there also a problem with the WebGuard module in Avira’s AV and CFW???
Hope this will be solved extra fast and well.
Comodo is working ■■■■■■■ CIS v6 in which this problem will no longer exist. There are underlying issues that explain what is going on (they can be found in this topic).
You could try the Win 8 compatible, but beta, version of CIS. That will tackle the issue and is based on CID 5.8.
Well, at least Avast seems to admit the proxy problem and is starting to moving towards getting another technology for its Web Shield: :Dhttp://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=102701.msg822873#msg822873
I suppose someone had to re visit this. At least they provided development update information on the issue.
That was a plus for all those who insisted it was not a Comodo issue.
Hi Comodo. Can we please, pretty please, get a status update on this? Will there be a Comodo Firewall update that runs on Windows 7 and that works correctly when such a proxy has been installed? I don’t care about Avast, but I do want my firewall to be able to handle such things.
Won’t fix? Can’t fix? Expect to fix? Have fixed but not released yet?
