Thanks Shane, looking forward to trying it out later :slight_smile:

Hi Shane,

I tried this version and I noticed that when playing youtube video at 480p the Hardware Acceleration GPU Video Encode is active, more or less at 3% while GPU Video Processing is not active at 0%. But playing youtube video at 720p or higher it makes the Video Encode and Video Processing active. I don’t know if this is a bug or which one is more power efficient because Google Chrome 76.0.3809.100 and Microsoft Edge(EdgeHTML) regardless of video resolution both Video Encode and Video Processing are active, when Video Encode and Video Processing are active it makes my CPU and GPU activity lower.

So far, it is working steadily.

Hello RPLStrike, thank you for taking ur time and reporting this, can please tell me what windows version are u using (10;7;8.1) and X64 or x86, and what GPU, thank you.

It is completely unusable.
windows10 x64 pro 1803 with latest August update.

Hello Zony, what seams to be the problem, can u be more specific?

Nice fast upgrade and so far everything running well - no problems :-TU

Im using Windows 10 x64 Build 18362 and Intel HD Graphics 610

After running and then exiting, there are four background processes in the Task Manager. After being closed in the Task Manager, the entire interface is blank after the software is started again. Remove the software catalog and re-decompress it, still.
The software used is provided here.
https://pan.baidu.com/s/1wzBegT4N997cAyeY0NExeQ
Extraction code:2btp
Run with the following parameters:D:\Program\Green\Dragon\dragon.exe -user-data-dir=“D:\Program\Green\Dragon\User Data”.

The following attempts were made:
Remove the 76 version of the directory. Switch to the normal old version 74. Exit after running.
Delete the ver 74 directory. Replace with the new ver 76 directory. It can be used again.
But the operation is the same as mentioned above.

To correct it, there are three background processes, not four.

Before the earliest, the window has not been updated in August, using avast free 19.6.2383. Software startup can even cause the system to reboot.
The system has now updated the August patch, using avast free 19.7.2388.

Thank you, for taking your time to share this with us, Dragon uses a different process for video display than Chrome does it was entirely made by us and it was made to be as optimized as posible, using Hardware Acceleration from the browser’s settings will use ur sistem resources in such way that ur overall performance will not be affected, it also uses ur GPU if available to utilize some of it’s rendering power…in ur case the browser uses the rezerved power of ur integrated GPU(Intel HD graphics) from ur processor for eficency, 480p does not require that much power to render the img that is why is not active.

Hello zony, i wish i could help you but the way you utilize the browser i cannot simply know how it will respond to so much change,in each update we are changing the program, deleting or adding lines of code, directories folders and it won’t simply function if u add folders from previous versions. And calling a product completely unusable using it the way you do i do not think it is a fair statement, as i previously said installing the last version in Portable Mode without altering the program will solve most of ur problems.

Hey Raven656, thanks for the feedback.

Hey Ploget, thanks for the feedback. We are glad you are happy with the upgrade.

Thank you, but both Chrome and Microsoft Edge uses 3 GPU Engines(3D, Video Decode and Video Processing) from 114p resolution and above using VP9 codec while Comodo Dragon deactivates Video Processing Engine at 480p and below in using VP9 codec

Comodo Dragon 76:
@114p, 2 Active GPU Engines(3D, Video Decode), Codecs: vp9(278)/opus(250)
@240p, 2 Active GPU Engines(3D, Video Decode), Codecs: vp9(242)/opus(251)

@1080p, 3 Active GPU Engines(3D, Video Decode, Video Processing), Codecs: vp9(248)/opus(251)

Chrome 76:

@1080p, 3 Active GPU Engines(3D, Video Decode, Video Processing), Codecs: vp9(248)/opus(251)

Below are some AV1 codec but I understand no available hardware decoder yet.
I noticed that Microsoft Edge always choose VP9 codec in any resolution. Thus, utilizing Video Decode Engine.

Comodo Dragon:
@480p, 2 Active GPU Engines(3D, Video Processing), Codecs: av01.0.04M.08(397)/opus(251)

I wonder if there’s a way or option like a preferred codec if available/applicable.

Thank you again RPLStrike for taking ur time testing this feature,appreciate when smb offers viable documentation when asking for information, unfortunately since this is a product made by us and not an OpenSurce Project much information i cannot offer about our internal workings, since many of our users use older computer specs along with windows 7, it was made in such way that is consumes less resources, there is no way to choose what codecs you want to use, but ur post has made us think ab a few ideas for the near future, we are using a combination of widevine, windows codecs, and some of our implementation for the video rendering, if u want to boost it a bit feel free to look a bit into chrome://flags/
