Comodo Dragon ver 25.0 is now available for download

Can someone tell me where I can download Comodo Dragon 23.4 ? Ever since 24.0 I’ve only had lots of problems. For example, ever since 24.0 was released, Comodo Dragon runs horribly in CIS sandbox, it’s like it suddenly gets a 500 to 1000 ms delay, and now with all the new bugs I just don’t see why I would want to use 24.0 and above, they all just seem to be a big bugfest.

Edit. got 23.4 installed but now have forgotten how to make the extensions in the top right show instead of being contracted into a drop down box <_<

Edit 2: never mind, got it!

Edit 3: Oh god it feels so good to be back on 23.4, no issues at all (that I’ve ever encountered) and I can finally use the sandbox again ;D

In my opinion, every chromium version after 23.0.1271.97 is broken beyond an acceptable point.

When you start the browser 25.0.2.0 is an error. Bug:
Class Not registered

I have CIS installed, but how to enable/use the Virtual Mode of Dragon ?

There are a few ways.

Way 1: From Comodo Dragon itself -
If you are using the latest version (the one that is downloaded in the original post of this topic) then you can click the Eye in the top left corner and then click something about switching into virtualized (I don’t have that version so I can’t check what it is called)

Way 2: From the Widget -
In the widget, click the Comodo Dragon icon.

Way 3: Creating a shurtcut on the desktop to the virtualized Dragon -

  1. Open CIS main GUI
  2. Click “Tasks”
  3. Click “Sandbox Tasks”
  4. Click “Run Virtual”
  5. If you want to, (I recommend it) you can tick in “Create a virtual desktop shortcut” (This will create a shortcut on your desktop that you can use to run the program virtualized again.
  6. Click “Choose and Run”
  7. Navigate to where you installed Comodo Dragon and choose “dragon.exe”
  8. Click “Open”

Way 4: Permanently make Dragon virtualized -

  1. Open CIS main GUI.
  2. Click “Tasks”
  3. Click “Sandboxed Tasks”
  4. Click “Open Advanced Settings”
  5. Almost in the middle of the new windows is an arrow, click it.
  6. Choose “Add”
  7. Choose “Browse” and then “Files”
  8. Navigate to “dragon.exe” and choose it, then click “Open”
  9. Click “OK”
  10. Click “OK”

Way 5: Right-click .exe file and choose sandbox.
Navigate to where you installed Comodo Dragon and then right-click dragon.exe and then click “Run in COMODO sandbox”

Way 6: Start Dragon in Kiosk -

  1. If you haven’t got it already, add the dragon shortcut to the desktop.
  2. Start the Kiosk and then launch Comodo Dragon.

There are probably more ways but I doubt you’ll need more ways.

Here works all fine (I’m using Dragon 25.0.2 portable and the last PepperFlash, v.11.6.602.171): no “Class Not registered” error, www.abovetopsecret.com is perfect to me, etc… :-TU

Edit (I forgot…): running on Win7SP1 64bit, standard account

Running a Chromium based browser several versions behind is not the smartest choice in terms of security. I feel your pain regarding Dragon, and have since returned to Chrome because of the horrendous update issue that seems to go totally, and completely ignored by Comodo… If I were you, I would just run Chrome.

Hi, SanyaIV.

Got it.

Thank you very much for your kind help :-TU

BR,
Redstraw

Chrome gives me the same issue when running sandboxed and since I am pretty much always going to run Comodo Dragon sandboxed (when not making changes to the settings) and I don’t have Java installed, I figure that any exploits will be sandboxed and hence can’t really do much damage. (10 days later… 88))

Chrome is simply not stable anymore, the stable release feels like a Canary release and that says it all. Google must have dropped the shiny ball somewhere it’s not supposed to be because now it’s all dirty and you don’t want to touch it…

The Chromium core that Dragon 23.4 uses is the last Chromium core that has actually worked satisfactory for me, all releases after that has had some kind of bug that ruins the whole browser, not to speak of the bug that is common in all later releases which is the bug where when the browser is sandboxed, it suddenly gets a 500-1000 ms delay instead of being almost instant, this is most clearly seen when highlighting text or scrolling on a website. Outside of the sandbox it is almost instant but inside the sandbox it’s slow as hell. Now when running 23.4 it is instant both outside of the sandbox AND inside of the sandbox.

Edit: Honestly I’d rather be using Internet Explorer 10, but it doesn’t have the extensions that I have gotten so used to.

Try - Re: Comodo Dragon ver 25.0 is now available for download

There is a minor typing error in dragon://about-virtual/, hope you can fix it.

Thanks!

Hi Black Angel,
The post found here might help?
Edit: I now see you edit above.
Glad to hear it is working.

captainsticks
previous post has been edited. Had to be removed in two branches of the registry

Thanks Black Angel, sorry for any confusion from the almost simultaneous edits.

Anyone experiencing the same?

I have exactly the same problem! Win7 x64 home basic.

Hi Jon79,
I categorize your quote in your post as double posting, please do not double post as this is against the Forum Policy.
Thank you.

Hello captainsticks,
sorry, I thought that was just a “reminder”, not a double posting :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway, thanks for your answer in the CD bugs area.
Even if it’s not a big issue, I hope it will be fixed in the next release.

OK, got it
Sorry and thanks for the clarification
