Just gotta be patient. They’re working on making it better. Which is good!
I dropped a few days ago Google Chrome for Comodo Dragon 23.2.0. First update Comodo Dragon has not worked at all.Now I know that the last update will not contain Privalert .
No offense to say that Comodo Antivirus can not be compared with Avast and firewall becomes very annoying if not optimally set.
And to finish this Privalert wanted to replace Ghostery , unsuccessfully !
Thanks for the info captainsticks, I appreciate your post. I’ll just be patient and hopefully it will be return to us soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for sooner rather than later, lol.
I’m back to Ghostery until PrivAlert comes back… Can’t wait…
If you do not like ghostery and can`t wait til privalert finished try this:
I’m back to “Adblock” extension until PrivAlert comes back… i hope privalert will be better than Adblock … soon as possible
Adblock extension is here : AdBlock — best ad blocker - Chrome Web Store
Hi fbonnus,
I am not sure that Privalert will replace any adblocker, but rather complement each other.
Portable Dragon 23.4 Update Setup problem
Hi, thanks for the free browser; it’s now my favorite… most of the time.
I use Dragon, Portable version only, on a USB 3.0 Corsair Voyager GT flash drive attached to a Windows 7 Core i5 3rd Gen, 64bit laptop. I always do updates manually by downloading the DragonSetup exe, shutting down Dragon, then running the setup through the file Explorer.
During the last 3 Updates, I’ve noticed an error in the first setup screen, where I have to browse to specify the Dragon program folder on the flash drive, which, in my case, is V:\Programs\Comodo\Dragon.
After returning to the Setup screen, I’ve noticed that it copies part of the path and appends it to the end of the correct path, like this: V:\Programs\Comodo\Dragon\Comodo\Dragon.
This time, on v. 23.4, I forgot to look and change it before proceeding, and the setup crashed after it had created this folder structure on top of the existing one. After seeing what went wrong, I moved the duplicated file tree to another drive in case I need something in it, and reran Setup. I then ran Dragon from the “setup completed” box. It took a really long time and then the browser froze before fully loading. I started the browser again and this time it loaded drama-free, and it looks intact. I hope this saves someone else this trouble.
Also, I’ve noticed in Windows Task Mgr that there are often MANY dragon.exe processes running. Is this normal?
Edit: I’ve duly noted your replies and I thank you for the link and the quick responses!
Hi and welcome buggywhip,
Thanks for posting, yes multiple instances of Dragon.exe is normal.
Multi-process Architecture
Hello,
Please use the built in update functionality to update Dragon. Updating the portable version through the setup is not supported, because the setup cannot detect the install location of a portable version (that is why you had to select the install location by hand).
Should you encounter error messages at any time please add screenshots so we can investigate and provide better support.
Thank you.
Can’t wait to get Privalert back … i loved that thing
i was actually able to get to websites i was unable to get to before because it would be waiting for some type of 3rd party thing to load.
I can’t wait for Privalert to be back either. I guess I just have to wait. Comodo always develops good products. I am sure the release of Privalert will be a big improvment. Keep up the good work Comodo!
When can we expect an update of the chromium version?
The latest version of Google Chrome is a slap against Comodo Dragon !It is much faster and more stable .
I will not ever use Comodo Dragon because it not allows direct insertion of 3D drawings in Alibre Design!
I have also stopped using Dragon. It is a little slower, does not have Privalert any more, and it does not have the built in PDF reader. I think I am going to stick with Chrome.
I have to agree. The newest stable Chrome is definitely faster then Dragon. Also, not including the PDF plugin has just become too much for me to overlook, so I also will only be using Chrome.
Despite CD doesn’t seem to be updated that fraquently anymore, I’m still using it because of the privacy it gives.
I just hope they update CD soon or before Chrome is being updated (like in old times).
I will continue to use Comodo Dragon for more than half of my internet usage. I already tried Google Chrome many months ago and it frequently impeded the performance of the old slow computer; and Incognito mode was not convenient to use in Google Chrome. The lack of a built-in PDF reader is not a big problem, since the extension for the one I have installed is active in Dragon. The C D speed is good enough from all I can sense, and no worse than Firefox.
I contuinye using gragdon comdop too, it work greta and mnoiral.
souryy drunkw…
Edit: Here’s a translation:
"I continue using dragon comodo* too, it works great and normal.
sorry drunk…"
*Of course I meant comodo dragon and not the other way around… I was so drunk I gave away my credit card info. <_<
It’s not true: Comodo is fast as Chrome (I obviously don’t use extensions like “Comodo Site Inspector”, “Comodo Share Page Service”, etc., I don’t need them. I use Dragon 'cause it’s natively portable, its Dns and chromium source code without Google spy related “features”).
Pdf plugin? Dumbass :■■■■ take pdf.dll from a chrome installation (or from chrome portable paf) and put it inside Dragon dir.
The same (take it from a Chrome installation) with pepperflash PPAPI/out-of-process based, It’s more secure than NPAPI/NPSWF32.dll.
To loading in Dragon, start dragon.exe with
–ppapi-flash-path=.\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll --ppapi-flash-version=11.5.31.137
version 11.5.31.137 is the last one.
