Hi,

I downloaded and installed COMODO Disk Encryption 1.2.50573.60. I noticed that after the installation of CDE, HP USB Device (HP Photosmart C Series AIO Printer) has a yellow exclamation mark and it says: “This device cannot start. (Code 10).”

CDE Drivers don’t have a description.
If you open the Drivers tab of Autoruns (Sysinternals) you can see that there is no description for the CDE drivers.
Other COMODO products have descriptions.

Vista SP1, Enterprise, UAC, x32.

I have one thing, that I think is a BUG or a very big problem…

I was going to encrypted my system drive (C:) yesterday, but i need to disconnect my external harddrive, that
i needed it somewhere else, while the encryption was still going on…

But then all hell broke lose… When i discconnected the external HD (pushed the power button), i got a BSOD and then the computer turned off… ??

When i tryed to start the computer again, i was only able to get to the point, where the boot password
should be entered… but it would not accept it…?

The only thing that i could do, was to reinstall Vista all over again…

I have used DriveCrypt Plus Plus before, and it was not a problem, if i turned on/off an external HD while
encrypting a drive…

Thanks

^^ Is there no one that have a reply to this…??? Strange… ???

You need to attach a zipped BSOD minidump to enable devs to find out what happened.
IIRC you can find a minidump in C:\Windows\Minidump\ and post the one whose date and time attributes match the BSOD you got.

Thanks for the answer…

I dont have a folder called Minidump in the Windows folder. ??

… and i think im gonna uninstall this anyway… It have already f**ked up my laptop. I dont
want that to happen again…

I think im just gonna spend 125$ for SecureStar DriveCrypt Plus… I know that work…

But i could be nice, to have a encryption program, that works, and is free.

Have a look at truecrypt in the meantime it’s free and at version 6.x
http://www.truecrypt.org/

Open Source.

TrueCrypt sucks… You can’t encrypt a HD without a format of that disk… Only the System Disk (c:) can
be encrypted without the need to format first…

I guess that a crashdump was never created.
Usually, at least on xp, the evet log get a dump entry that also reference the minidump save path anyway sine you decided to give up on CDE and it looks the crashdump is missing.
There is no heping it.

When I try to put the system into hibernation state, it doesn’t work. Instead of the hibernation screen, I get blank/black screen.

XP SP3, CFP 3.0.25.378.

Got another BSOD when I was extracting a file. There are still also peformance issues. Like CFP 3 & Startup takes forever to initialize and properly load up.

Attatched Minidump.
