CCAV seams to work fine on my pc.

avg cpu usage 0.16% after 5 min of idle time (before quick scan).
21,6MB and 16,3MB ram usage.

avg cpu usage 0.18% after 5 min of idle time (after the quick scan)
32,3MB and 25,7MB ram usage.

Windows 10

Only executables files are scanned although if you have any exploit possibility out of any such files, you are protected with additional layer of protection.

I was testing ccav and i noticed that if a malicious .xls file is manual scanned then the file will be marked as malicious (fls.noname detection). On the other hand, if i just double click on the malicious .xls, no real time detection at all. Does the realtime module scans the .xls, .doc etc type of files?

Hi Jon79,
Two things:
1.
When CCAV encounters a file 1st time, it has to do cloud look up and 1st execution could be delayed. But if you execute again, it is will be fast as we have cache. So 2nd execution should not see any delay.

IF you see any application taking high CPU, please right click and take couple (2 or 3) of dumps and share with us allowing us to analyze possible reason.

Only boot time looked better, everything else was slowed down. Even opening Windows Settings had a delay of 1-2s.
CPU usage was constantly 3-5% when idle and RAM was around 100Mb (not so high, but before it was around 10Mb)…
Uninstalled CCAV and back to Avast, everything came back to normal (CPU around 0-0,1% and RAM around 10-20Mb when idle, settings and apps running nearly istantly)

I tried with keeping malicious macros active and nothing triggered a detection or a reaction of some kind. Since the file wasnt opened into sandbox, it can elude viruscope
